First ever track day at Mission is in the books. Had tons of fun today with a few other RS members (duy, Santofu, Grim) and learned a lot more than I thought I would from my instructor. Addressed my weaknesses and throughout the day, slowly improved at it and felt more confident getting closer to the walls.
Was really happy with the car and enjoyed every single thing about it. Even the Prius tires! Hope to see you regulars in the future
Feedback is of course appreciated Don't think I'll be able to hit up Ridge this year due to scheduling and cost, will definitely make it to at least one next year
No worries. People don't like the HP+ for some reason but this was the second track day on the same set of pads, and with 7x 25 minute sessions of hot lapping they did the job just fine. I'll be getting a fresh set for Mission on July 22nd with UBC, and will be going to an XP12 by Carbotech for next year, but for now, I like 'em!
Keep in mind, Mission ain't The Ridge, The Ridge ain't Mission.
Ridge has enough area to run to allow the brakes to cool. Mission doesn't.
From the sounds of your driving, it is progressing along nicely which is a good thing. But Mission is *THAT* hard on brakes and you will be best to up the ante and go with the XP12's than run the HP+.
The HP+ on the rear of my stock S2000 on Hoosier A6's showed signs of over heating last time I ran Mission with that car and you'll have way more speed down the front straight than the S.

Not what I would call my best laps ever after jumping out of a very different Subaru but not bad either. I believe two of the later laps were low 2:03.x when I started to push a bit harder and get more comfortable.
Some of the lines I choose are a bit different than I see most people doing at track days. I'd be happy to explain my thought process if anyone has questions.
At the end of the video we get a proper oversteer moment at turn 5 so I shut it down do a slow in lap.
Thanks again to Ken for letting me drive his car, what a fun car to push hard around track.

Point taken... Honestly the issue i'm having is finding reasonably priced Carbotech pads... The only supplier I can find is Vorshlag and they want like $400 for a set...

THANKS man!!! It would be a lot of fun to jump in with you. After watching your video's I think you're really dialed in. It would be fun to discuss style and incremental changes to find time!
nice driving richard! makes me itch to drive but sadly i dont think my car will be ready this season
@dared3vil0 - my suggestion is going on the actual carbotech site get the part # and search google - i was able to find lots of vendor that way - if not you can also look into PFC/CL RC series/Raybestos etc - are all good pads
Ended up going with Hawk's new quasi race pad, rated from 100-1200f, where as the HP+ i ran at ORP and the Ridge is rated from 100-800f. Should give me a good buffer zone for Mission.
Ken actually did 2:03 last year with a bone stock Frs with pads and supersports, it's been a pretty hectic season this year, his hearts probably just not in it..sorta worried too, my cars taken quite the beating this year, not sure if it has to much to give before calling it quits.
I have big brakes on a 2200 lbs carcar, overheated after 3 laps at mission. just be aware of the limit of your parts and respect the track, mission is hell on your brakes but rewards fast cornering cars more than high powered cars
