If I ever had anything negative to say about a V6 automatic Mustang it looks like I've put my foot in my mouth. Yer car is fast s0n! I almost thought the video was sped up. Haha!
anyone going to the mission event August 13th? seems a bit empty, full run group for rs members heh. saw you the other day daredevil, don't hold your brakes after getting off the track lol

I wasn't driving, just helping out. already did about 5 track days this season, my car and my wallet doesn't have much left to give, trying to hold out and finish off with a September event
I really don't know where to put this but does anyone know if mixing RBF600 with another DOT 4 fluid is okay? I want to bleed with it before the next track day on the 16th but I don't want to do a complete flush from the ATE TYP 200 i'm currently running.

As far as compatibility is concerned -- that is, whether anything will break -- there are no issues. As a matter of fact, IIRC, RBF600 is labelled as a DOT 4 brake fluid. For what it is worth, DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 are all compatible. It is the DOT 5 silicone based fluid that is incompatible with the 3, 4, 5.1 stuff.
What will end up happening is, when you mix a high temp brake fluid with a lower temp brake fluid, the resulting mixture will give you a lower boil point than the high temp fluid. In that sense, you are "wasting" the high temp fluid's potential to handle higher temperatures.
I've been trying to be a SIMA at least once a week since late March this year. A couple of guys were down for practice today so we improvised a quick 12 lap race.
I pussed out on a couple of moves and it's so blatantly obvious on film Tried a new mounting point with my GoPro and I find it's a suitable place to capture most of the action.

Yeah I was just worried about compatibility, the ATE stuff i'm running has a boiling point of 540f, and the RBF600 has a boiling point of 594f, so it won't really be a waste.
I know I'm fast at Mission when the car gets up to 120km/h by the 1st brake marker on the front straight. (And yes, I floored it before I even got out of T9... )
On a related note, early bird registration for the VCMC Pacific Raceways track day will end in less than 2 weeks. Sign up before the deadline to get your early registration discount!
For those of you who've run at mission what's considered a fast lap?
I know of an NC miata that was on 285 A6's that did 1:20's and he was just "cruising".
I remember watching a youtube video of a track prepped 92 GSR on R-comps that did a lap in 1:20.
So it all depends on your car's level of prep.
Just try to be consistent and improve along the way and have fun.

first timers I've seen guys do 1:24 (Noran) - 1:29
i feel like 1:22 is a fast time but really it varies on your car and level of prep/mods. group b generally runs 122 - 127
group a runs anywhere from 116 - 124
if you focus on lines and brake points, fast times come naturally

A wise uncle once said "trackdays is all about horsepower".
For the 2 seconds that you are focused in each turns, you also have a minute of long straights.
So if you have a lighter higher power car, it's easy to get the lap times down.
If you have a heavy boat, street tires, Mcstruts, and 60 hp, yeah you won't be close to 1:20.

Basically what I drive LOL.
With super early braking due to cooked brakes, and my first time to mission i averaged around a 1:26, I suspect with healthy brakes, and a decent tire, coupled with a bit more experience a 1:20 is a reasonable goal for me.

Speaking of- I can't seem to find that video of the (I think) 240z that crashed at ORP earlier this year? Hit the dirt berm at well over 100mph and got some insane air time, anyone have a link?
