it's mostly to discourage racing and play racing, at the end of the day it is a lapping day not a NASA time attack or sccbc wheel to wheel race. I'm sure the majority of us don't have a roll cage in our cars, we're still just out there for fun and we're representing ffdxtss/vcmc/vancouver whether we like it or not... let's not be complete tools out there, be safe.
All in all a very eye opening track day experience for me despite embarrassing myself in a sea of Hondas during the morning sessions. I have much more respect for those running high powered cars regardless of how fast their lap times really are. My previous track days running in the Fiesta and Miata gave me an appreciation for the "slow car fast" sort of fun, but the concentration required to tame the unforgiving Porsche and perpetual fear of wrecking a high dollar car felt like very rewarding in itself.
Here's an embarrassing video of me spinning out at the carousel
Thanks as always to Kchan and the Speed Syndicate crew for getting this ever growing community together. I would not have had as good a time if it weren't for the majority of my track buddies running at the same event and being able to ride/give rides to one another.
Lol I was just saying to my friends how if I had done the same at Mission I'd be crying.
:flamesuiton:
Spoiler!
By the way, anyone else who attended Sept 8 at Ridge notice a disproportionate amount of period blood? I went into 3 different stalls and all 3 times saw more red than I really cared to I mean track days are usually sausage fests so I don't know what happened
Tons of people have it mounted to their windshield, does not block my view whatsoever, I'd say it's much more safe quickly peeking to my right than looking down or having to glance further right for a lap time.
Girly dangly bits give me more HP, if those so easily distract you from driving, perhaps you shouldn't even be going to lap days. I've had all that shit on for the past year and going to lapping days without any issues whatsoever, the only time I've been black flagged to go back in was I left a sports towel in the rear and having it fly around.
Or may be you can be a better driver and better read the situation if you did't have to peek to your right.
BTW. Those do not block your view whatsoever because I believe you have typical newbie problem, tunnel vision.

Too bad it isn't about flipping cars to lose money, I'm really good at that.

5:40 would be the most interesting part. Pooped myself a little.
Pretty sure I heard tire squeal when you braked and down shifted for T11.
You better work on that heal toe or else next time you may end up in the weeds.

We saw so many police vehicles and first responders and we knew something bad had happened.

lots of room to improve on laptime especially if I can get a clean lap without sand and oil at turn 3 and 4
funny thing about this lap is that i pulled the least amount of lateral g force (1.41) compared to my other laps where I managed to pull (2.0g) but it also seems to be my fastest lap of the morning

Going to be attending my first-ever track event on Oct 10 @ Pacific with Proformance!
A friend originally registered for their US$395 Intro to Sport Lapping event on Oct 11 @ Pacific, but it was cancelled/turned into a private event. They didn't tell him this until I went to register and we asked them though.
Anyways we ended up registering together for Oct 10 but at US$555 each. Pricey but it sounds like some of you (Westopher?) have good experiences with them, and hopefully the actual HPDE experience will make up for the communication issues so far.
Instruction from the ProFormance crew is top notch. The $555 price tag may sound pricey, esp given how wimpy our loonie is right now. But I can assure you that you are going to have an awesome time.
