One of the later sessions of my first track day at Mission with VCMC. Felt great, cracked a 1:26.1 in my last session (maybe couldve brought it down a little bit if there was no traffic), worth every penny - major highlight of my 2016 year thus far hands down. Can't wait to try the ridge

Pacific is still my favourite place I have been. I haven't been out once this year. I'm jelly. How fucking fun is 3a/b. So much better than the ridge complex.

I have never thought of it that way before, but now that you mentioned it, T3a/b really is a bit like the Ridge Complex.

I think all the tracks have their "signature sections."
Karrusel for the Nurburgring, corkscrew for Laguna, etc.
I still think ridge is a "better" track but I've never had as much fun in a car as I have on turns 3 a/b at pacific. It's seriously something I'll remember for the rest of my life.

For me, T1 is the most memorable part of Pacific raceways.
I am at 7000 rpm's in 5th gear and have to keep the pedal down as I take that blind corner. While skill wise isn't that hard, it's the fact that you have to have faith and keep it planted or else you will spin out.

T1 at PR is insane for that exact reason. The whole track is awesome but I've always really enjoyed the back stretch. One wrong move and bye-bye.
Yes. T5 is a killer. Place the car in the wrong place, you end up smacking the car hard into the hill.

Turn 1 at PR is probably the corner where it requires the most balls out of Mission, Ridge and PR. I looked at my speedometer moments before I made the turn and it was reading 200kph
Keep checking this thread for vids from Sept 6 TSS x Revscene track day... but nothing haha...
My videos. Not much traffic at all, perhaps quite a few no-shows due to the reports of rain in the morning. Great event, didn't see any dicking around and very few offs overall.

For a brief moment, I keep wondering what the heck is so freaky about T1@PR. Then it occurred to me that the turn is absolutely uneventful because my car is just so damn slow that I probably wasn't even breaking 150 or 160 at that point...
damn wish i can drive on that track on either the lotus or radical
too bad not a member
You may be able to get in with the Lotus as Weissach is hosting 4 events next year supposedly. Should be Lotus track day, Porsche Track day, Lambo Track day, etc. Not sure if it's exclusive access to Weissach customers, event fee was about $700 but really worth it for the world class track and instruction for first timers like myself.

you seem to be in the loop - keep me updated lets go together? ahah
Even though things might be winding down for the track season, for those who are interested, there would still be no shortage of winter lapping events in the region.
The weather usually gets too dicey for a proper track day once we reach December, and then it'd probably be March until the weather improves enough before lapping is possible again. So to stretch the season out just a bit more, I am going to try everything I can to make it to the Speed Fanatics one at Mission on Nov 11, and then again to the Ridge on Sat, Nov 19 to wrap up my 2016 season.
Hope to see some of you guys at one of these events.
So Pacific Raceways has finally announced their winter HPDE programme for the season.
Quote:
Road Course lapping dates are Nov. 5, Nov. 19, Dec. 3, Dec. 17, Jan. 7, Jan. 21, Feb. 4, Feb. 18, and March 4. All lapping days are open to Novice, Intermediate and Advance/Race. Bring your car and put it on the road course.
For better or for worse, they are the exact same dates as the Ridge winter track days. The Ridge charges USD $225 for a day, but is an extra hour's drive away, and PR is asking for anywhere between USD $275 to $725, depending on your level of experience and whether you want to take out one of their ProFormance school cars (probably the race-prepped Cobalts?)
I personally love both the Ridge and PR for different reasons, and it'll be difficult to decide which of the 2 venues to go to. But for now, I'll be preparing for Mission on Remembrance Day first.
Now if they threw some tire walls where the concrete walls are i'd be a happy camper to buy a membership STAT~
Perhaps tire wall is coming when they put in the grass. At the moment with no grass, the track gets way too dusty. Harder to see and slower, in the morning you pretty much couldn't see the car in front of you until you were like 3 car lengths behind.
That being said, I was never really worried about the walls, I did have an off at one of the corners but nowhere near a wall.
