I'm going to area 27th on the 29th of July. Does anyone know if spectators can just show up and watch? I have some family in the area that want to see what it's all about.
Alternative is to contact the organizer and ask if you can attend as a guest and sign a waiver.

Spectators are always welcome at Kalson's @kchan events.

That sounds like an magnificent trip! As distant as I know, Region 27 may be a private motorsports club, and onlooker get to can be very limited. It's best to contact the club specifically to induce the foremost precise data with respect to onlooker arrangements. They might have particular days or occasions where visitors are permitted. Appreciate your time there, and your car lineup sounds fantastic—should be a extraordinary encounter!

Is this a bot? Solid 9/10 weird factor.

Thanks for taking me out in my own car, EvoFire! Great meeting you today. Well I think I met you at a stock and noob meet but didn't actually talk to you.
LOL at our brown pants moment when the car fish tails under braking [emoji23]

Your car was great fun. It was great knowing that my tires aren't actually that good. It's so nice to be able to just pin it out of a corner and let the tires and diff sort everything out.
The brakes on your car need to be applied with some progression I think, and I can't just stab at it like my car. Your pads also bite a lot harder initially. What pads are you running?
PB on a half CD / half have fun with friends lap. I couldn't get anywhere close when I was actually trying for a hot lap though.. sigh.

I'm not used to being able to pin it out of a corner so I found the biggest difference between you/Kodamu driving vs me is how early you guys get on throttle.
Kodamu is an alien capable of things that will just leave our jaws on the floor, so don't compare yourself to him LOL~
Some years ago, he kicked my a$$ in his gutless Smart on the Mission front straight. In his frickin Smart. I probably have a video of that somewhere...
I asked kodamu to take my car out so I can see where I can shave time. He got a 1:16.31, which I then was like oh. There's no way I can push like he does LOL
Tho kodamu is a great teacher. Showed me a couple places I could shave time but it was getting hotter so I didn't end up being able to get another pb

Damn that pipped my time according to my RaceChrono.
You guys with your fancy timers and cameras and GPS. I only got GPS on my phone.
I did do a PB compared to last year, 1:17.12 vs 1:18.7. I have way more time if I wasn't so damn sloppy with braking. Just feels like the F8x platform just isn't actually that fast when doing dedicated track work.
I am however at a bit of dilemma. The car currently as setup is limited in my hands (I'm sure Kodamu can get more out of it). It's setup in a way that I don't have to do anything to it, just arrive and drive, then drive home. I drove BAWS's CRS and I can tell it just has so much more grip, and his pads have so much more bite than my car. I drove the white F80 M3 as well and his Pagids felt better as well. My ride height is form -> function. I can do all those things + an alignment and I can get another second easily imo, but then it's no longer a very good daily.
Idk if you can fix it, but the start/finish line on your OEM recorder is wrong LOL
Good work out there. Glad we got a day in!
Its a manual "start position", for some reason this year if i hit start in the entry bay, it would not register a lap, so two sessions did not get recorded. So i hit "start" on that corner as its the first place where im on track
Its the built in PDR, sometimes it works an auto, other times not at all

Do I go full retard?
Nah, dont ruin daily over track use.
Having fun on track + good daily use = great
Having fun on track + track camber/ tires/etc = faster times but worse daily, plus the bank account suffers lol
donk shows up next year with cup 2 tires and front camber lol

I have done two days at VIMC so far this summer. Once with the lotus, and another at a GAIN BMW day. I figured I'd post a clip with one lap of each.
I need to stop being lazy in the Lotus and use second gear on that slow section near the end... I just get spoiled in the M2 with the auto blip that I don't want to heal/toe in the Lotus because I still suck at it.
There was also a guy with an X5M competition at the BMW day. Holy crap that thing hauled ass! I hate on sports SUVs quite a lot, but I might need to rethink that a little. Worth the price? I'm not sure but he was a lot faster than all the M3 drivers out there (due to driver skill obviously) until his brakes had enough.
For you track junkies who have dedicated track cars, or willing to deal with shorter oil change intervals, Parkland Auto Motorsports has Motul 300v 5W40 for sale on the cheap. When I say cheap, cheaper than most places, and at a price I've never seen before.
Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. You can use this on a street car, but best if you are tracking the car and changing oil regularly. This oil has less detergents than your typical street-based oil and has no factory approvals whatsoever. I used this one in my Boxster several years ago when I won a contest sponsored by Motul. For what it's worth, I regularly redline my engine during track days, and likely have over-rev'd it. My recent compression and leakdown test was very consistent, so Porsche fanbois can suck it.
I toyed around with shipping to Vancouver and it looks like it will cost around $40 or so (give or take a few bucks depending on where you live) so if you find a local shop that sells it for this price, then it's a good deal.
