| LA/ Anaheim/ Vegas
Planning to do a 9 day trip to 3 cities.
2 days LA
got any tips for travelling around LA? is it cheap to cab? is better to rent a car? car2go says they are there, but no cars -- has anyone seen any car2go's in LA?
3 days Disneyland
Besides themeparks anything else to see?
4 days Vegas
Any deals these days? looking for R & R and pools and eat. Any fun activities for during the day time besides pool parties/casino?
Also so far the trip prices out at $1300ish for flights, hotel, shuttles, themepark tix. What should I expect for taxi, food, tip , etc.?

Rent a car.
Traffic is often really bad on the highways, but the Car Pool lane is useful and will shave 30% off your travelling time (for 2 or more people).
Drive the 1.2 hours to San Diego if you have the time and visit the San Diego Zoo.

go silvercar since you're flying into LAX. if you want it to be cheap, then go to one of the many other rental car companies and rent a depressing econobox.
i'm heading out to cali this year also and i will be renting from silvercar. its fucking dope. fully loaded audi a4 with nav, bluetooth etc. that you dont have to pay extra for because they're already included and the kicker is that theres no mileage restriction!

I suggest renting a car. Try Midway Car Rental at LAX. Rented from them several times and they are awesome. Great prices too. Lowest cost I've ever gotten was $15/day and highest was $30/day. All cars less than 12 months old (last time I got a 2014 Corolla with less than 500 miles on it). Ymmv of course, I usually go during low season. In my experience, calling in gets you the best price. Drive the 1.2 hours to San Diego if you have the time and visit the San Diego Zoo. | A lot of spots where the HOV will actually save time off your commute is now for fastpass holders only unfortunately. Commuting in LA sucks lol
Taxis in Vegas generally cost $10-$12 each time with the trip to/from the airport costing around $15. Careful of the drivers, they often try to convince you to take longer ways to "beat traffic." Had a few taxis end up charging closer to $20 due to malicious ways. Some of them will even purposely keep the meter off and charge $20 flat rate lol
Food in LA can be had for cheap depending on what you want. Average $15/person should be more than enough for nothing fancy
Vegas food is much more pricey but there are restaurants that can feed you for $15-$20 as well. Bacchanal buffet was pretty good but costed $150 for two

I would rent a car as it will be cheaper overall. I rented from Avis and got a 3series for $30/day, traveled around 1000 miles in 4 days and only paid $120 in gas.
as aznkev said, careful with HOV lanes as some are fastpass and will need to pay. try not to travel during rush hour time. My buddy from LA told me after I did this... pretty much 7am-9am and 4pm-7pm avoid the hwy as you will most likely get stuck and sucks when you try to get to an exit when its 6 lanes wide
LA check out universal studios and walk of fame

Silvercar is the way to go.

wow......... $143 for 2 days is a great price for an A4.
It's like an econo car price (at a regular rental company) for an A4 at silver car. PHEW.
