Damn- there goes Brazil's hopes of winning the WC at home. Their attacking threats are not the same with Neymar out. Fred has been mostly useless this tournament. I wonder how they'll rejig the formations to compensate. But losing someone who's already scored 4 goals and is an emotional lift every time he runs at defenses- I'm not sure how Brazil can recover.
I hope this serves as a lesson to the other players who dive like crazy. Neymar is one of the best players out there, but the guy is basically one of the biggest divers and is the epitome of "the boy who cried wolf".
Sometimes when you dive and writhes around in agony, you're not surprise that a card is not pulled out the one that he gets hurt for real.
look at Julio Cesar, he moans in agony and pain like he just broke his leg and needs to be stretchered off, yet was good enough to take the penalty kick the next moment.
No Thiago Silva and no Neymar for a German team seemingly running on all cylinders. I'm going to pull a pastarocket and ask some questions!
Can Brazil "rally around Neymar" to beat the stacked Germans?
Will Germany smell blood and try and end the game early?
Will the Oranje poop the bed against a pesky Costa Rica side? Does CRC have a few more upsets for the WC fans?
Will Argentina finally break out of their funk and actually play a good game for once?

to be honest he didn't do much this game imo. Luiz did the most in terms of getting the ball away from colombia and setting up opportunities + he scored
granted that was just for this game but hopefully he'll be able to pick up the slack and its not like the rest of the team sucks

I actually went into this match thinking...if Brazil loses omg..the country will riot...
hell if Colombia tied it and then won in PK..i fear for the safety of everyone on the pitch
Losing to Germany wouldn't sound as bad...
Anyways. this picture.. lots of things wrong. Fifa really needs to look at how to properly load someone onto a stretcher. Even though they had no clue it was a broken back. just flipping Neymar onto the stretcher is just not cool

Costa Ricas coach whining about Robben diving

World Cup 2014: Arjen Robben diving worries Costa Rica coach
Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto says Netherlands winger Arjen Robben must be punished if he dives during Saturday's World Cup quarter-final in Salvador.
Robben, 30, apologised for diving in the last-16 win over Mexico.
"I would like to ask Fifa and the referees to watch Robben," said Pinto. "We're really worried about his diving. He has admitted doing it."
Asked if Robben should be sent off if he dives, Pinto said: "That may be the most logical solution."
He added: "Maybe he would have to leave the field because he gets two yellow cards for diving."
The Netherlands scored twice in the last three minutes to beat Mexico 2-1 in the last 16 of the 2014 Fifa World Cup, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scoring the winner from the penalty spot in stoppage time after Robben was fouled by Rafael Marquez.
Robben said: "I have to apologise. In the first half I took a dive. The one at the end was a penalty."

They didnt just flip him into the stretcher, he was rolled in, which is the proper way when there's fear of a spinal or vertebrae injury. They also had a clue of what was injured which is why they loaded him like that in the first place.

Usually you want to stay flat and basically have zero movement. The last thing you'd want is it heave the guy which could cause some major damage to his spinal cord. But on his own, there was really no need for straps because he would probably be in too much pain to move.

To be fair, almost everyone they load onto those stretchers is completely fine.

I give robben props for at least admitting that he dives. And its true he did get fouled at the end of the first half that was a bad no call as both Mexican defenders fouled him. Moreno actually broke his leg fouling robben actually. Plus robben had plenty of opportunities to go down and get a penalty but instead jumped over the defenders in the game.
