do the springs have preload? many times I've seen cars lowered with no preload and it clunks. |
@Fliptuner, they are Megan coilovers. @!e.lo_, I'm unsure if the springs are preloaded or not. I hope it is an easy fix. We'll see what causes this issue tomorrow as I'm taking it to the shop. Imo, it felt unsafe to drive while the suspension was making noises >.> |
after looking at shit online, i've figured i can't do the heater core on my own everything looks like a bitch from start to finish and back that said, is there recommended shop in the tri cities that can do this job for a competitive price? i've just googled and called around and the quote i'm getting seems to be a 7 hour labor + parts around $900 in total |
Call Speed Syndicate and get a quote. Tri-cities? nope but not too far and done right for decent cost. |

Signs of a dead battery that needs replacing because it no longer holds a charge? -key fob doesn't unlock doors -turning the key in the ignition makes the lights turn on but car doesn't start and there is no ticking sound -hooking up the battery to a charger and it says it's full |
Test the amperage |

What's typical shop rate on a head gasket job? Mazda 4 banger. |
Anyone who's familiar with Koni Yellows, is there an issue with the dampers if they compress themselves automatically? I have to physically pull the shaft out but it'll bottom out by themselves. When I physically move the shaft (push and pull) there is resistance. I know with the Yellows the ability for the dampers to decompress in no way indicates a problem with the damper. |

I got a 2007 Infiniti G35x and I've noticed that the passenger side carpet is soaked. Any ideas on where the leak might be coming from? |

Now, what would be the best way to clean up the carpet and prevent mould etc from growing? The insulation behind the carpet seems to be holding a lot of water too. |
You need to re/re that carpet ASAP and get a fan on the underside foam. You also need to dry out the body and what ever is electrical is in that area before corrosion starts to set. This can turn into a world of hurt down the road if you don't take care of it ASAP |

Where is the best place to get a windshield replaced through ICBC? |
Uneven popping/rumbling from exhaust and engine during cold starts, has been progressively becoming more noticeable over the last few months. The engine also noticeably jerks during cold starts and jerks very lightly at random intervals when idle with a warm engine, say when I'm at a red light. Idle speed however is stable and does not fluctuate under any circumstance. Nearly 300,000kms on the motor, don't remember the last time I changed my spark plugs, but around 30,000kms ago when I had them checked they were still fine. Coil packs and wires have never been changed. Engine is not burning oil (1qt per 5,000kms). I did have a CEL awhile ago that I thought was a misfire but ended up being the O2 sensor which was taken care of. |
Plugs are an easy/cheap fix .. |
Possibly coil packs or spark plugs from the sounds of it? I also had a similar problem on my 370z, but that turned out to be the shitty CAI I had in there. AEM makes an "electronically tuned intake" with a maf sensor adapter/extension thing. That thing on my car fucked up, and caused it to bog randomly. Switched it out (after changing spark plugs, cleaning up maf sensors and everything with the problem still present) for another intake and I was fine. Might be worth looking into |
On cold mornings I will occasionally get a clunk from the rear of the car when I start moving for the first time. The clunk sounds like either the parking brake not disengaging properly (still grabbing when I get in motion) or perhaps the rear brakes are sticking (perhaps the calipers need to be lubed). Thoughts? |
Do you park outside where water could get onto the rotors? Might or might not be the case, but whenever I wash my car or it gets rained on and I leave it for a bit, the rotors end up getting surface rust on them. That causes a clunk noise when you first move the car |
When you first move it are you backing up and then driving forward? |
