shit eh 10% which is not a whole lot thought it would be a little bit more with a bigger battery and more effiecent A8 precessor! I'm hoping to see some geek bench scores soon comparing it to some android phones..

If you buy/pre order the iphone it will come to you unlocked..but if you go in and do a HUP under your carrier the phone will be locked to the at carrier as usual. The kicker here is after its locked to the carrier it wont be able to be unlocked by anything....

This to me seems very stange but yet possible only time will tell I guess.

i might be wrong on this as i'm not techie but isn't the whole locking thing carrier side?

i don't get why apple would make it so a phone is unlockable? why would apple care?

20-40% for the 6+ is huge, where did you find this out?

That part I don't know...the rogers rep said he read it on the apple site in small print some where so who knows if he was correct or not...

Have u ever thought that maybe the greasy slums at rogers is trying to play the devil here making u think apple is the bad guy n not rogers?

Yeah could be true I guess we will know in time!

So if I change my plan to the $95 plan and get my wife on my line for $55 we would pay $84 each per month but if she pays out her subsidized iPhone 5s out which is $270. We get a $10 discount because techically she will be bringing her own phone now. So our final total monthly will be $78.40 taxes in.

Best to get confirmation from Apple.
To claim something like this, Rogers needs to be certain that it is true or else they're just stupidly driving customers away.

So you want to pay $6514.80 over 3 years so you can get a couple "$300" iphone 6+ and 6GB of data a month (how much of that do you use?)

And 2 years later you'll want the new one (which is why you have to buy out the 5S you already have)

Sounds like solid financial planning to me

There was a leaked Geekbench that showed the A8 at 1633/2920 single core/multi core. Based on Apples announcement these seem legitimate.

For comparison the newest Moto X is the fastest Android phone in their list at 977/2926 single/multi. The only device faster than the Moto X is the Nvidia K1 Shield at 1098/3326.

Considering that these are 4 core processors running at 2.2-2.5GHz, they're really not very impressive.

thatgirl13 09-14-2014 09:56 PM

I'm currently paying fido $60 monthly for my phone bill...it used to be on a tab 24 contract but not anymore. Would i be able to get the iphone 6 on a renewed tab 24 contract at the same monthly price of $60? Or would they force me to get the max plan?
Also, could i buy the unlocked phone from fido and use my fido dollars on it?

6gbs are absolute overkill for me...i said i'll justify it with 720p Plex streams...got too lazy to configure that...I have to do my hardest on other stuff just to come close to 1-2GB :derp:

TOS'd 09-14-2014 11:49 PM

Can easily reach 5.x GBs / month..

EDIT: This month's data usage.
Spoiler!

GabAlmighty 09-14-2014 11:57 PM

I work in the bush with anywhere from 4-12 hours of ass time per shift. My 1gb gets maxed every hitch. 6gb would be very nice out here, it's what my boss has and he never goes over.

Hondaracer 09-15-2014 06:54 AM

I'm going over 5GB for the last 4 months and I went over 6 two months ago

Basically from streaming radio time to time and my daily use

sure it does by the time mid october comes you might change your mind and want something else.. and by then when that phone comes out there might be an even better one coming out in a month or so that u want instead hehe

Are android OS's even optimized for a single device like the iOS are? I mean there are tons android devices (all different hardware) running the same build (stock) of android while iOS.. now being 2 iphones, is more optimized to take full advantage of...

TOPEC 09-15-2014 03:34 PM

short answer is no, but manufactures do have their own versions of the OS which comes with their own bloatware and some optimization i hope
