After seeing that review kinda wish I went with the + , oh well

It's too early to say right now what the battery life will actually be like.. These bloggers spent a couple days with one, using all the preinstalled apps. They always say the battery is improved, but they always end up being disappointing in real world usage. For this kind of thing, wait for Anandtech's review IMO

I'm sure it will be better overall though

Funny, now I'm thinking of the 6 instead because of the reviews.

After watching that video I've convinced myself to keep my 5S. Even the regular 6 looks too big for my liking. Plus its heavier? :heckno:

Peeps gonna rock a case or what? I'm thinking I just get the extended apple care and go no case

Bender Unit 09-17-2014 09:29 AM

I am thinking to get Apple Care, too.
Too many crack screen.

trust me, i used to say the exact same thing when i had my 4s. then i bought a nexus 5 and now i cant imagine using anything smaller. the 4.7" hits that sweet spot IMO.

also, why the fuck is it so hard for apple to put a notification light in their phones? seriously. its just one little LED...

TOPEC 09-17-2014 09:44 AM

i believe since the iphone5, the flash led can act as notification lights

Has anyone figured out how Fido's position in line works? I went from 500 when I ordered it last week to 315 today. I'm trying to time this so I can pick it up while I'm in the country since they won't ship it out to me and I live outside the country.

Any insight will be appreciated. I do need to work something out for a retention plan since I'm not prepared to pay $75/month for 2 years for a secondary phone line.

Currently I rock a "minimum use" retention getting 250 minutes and 1GB data for $15+$20.

That's not what she said...

For anyone updating to iOS8, a few things:
- you have to setup the notification settings for most, if not all, of your apps. Otherwise, you might see a drain from the background refreshes
- don't setup iCloud drive if you don't have Yosemite beta installed
- go through the settings of the phone; many things are turned on by default that you might not want on
- restart the phone when you're done
- Camera Roll and Photostream have been merged; there isn't a separate album

It's in
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Hearing -> LED Flash for Alerts

i thought the new glass takes care of that

The LED flash as an alert is pretty intrusive and obvious though. When it goes off everyone in the room will be able to see it.

not for me. I tried that size phone, I also bought a Galaxy Nexus and used it for about a week. It was not comfortable for me so I sold it and went back to the iPhone...

yeah its fucking dumb. i get a very strong urge to hit people who use that function..

Ch28 09-17-2014 12:27 PM

I don't get why they don't just have an LED ring around the home button.

Iceman_2K 09-17-2014 12:57 PM

Thats where the finger print detection circuitry is....I'd put it near the upper speaker

I'm kind of regretting reserving the 6.

I may want the 6 Plus instead. Anyone want to trade reservations?

Also, when I did my reservation I told them I would be going with a carrier but I decided to just purchase the phone outright. That should be ok right?

Shouldn't be an issue. They do all the carrier stuff at the counter anyways.

Post what you reserved. May be able to help.

Energy 09-17-2014 03:31 PM

I reserved an iPhone 6, gold, 64gb. I think I might actually want the 6 Plus.. any color but 64gb.

SkinnyPupp 09-17-2014 06:25 PM

I read somewhere that the NFC will only be usable by Apple's payment app, and won't be open to developers... If so, that is beyond fucked. Anyone know if it's true?

I think a lot of people are going to be in the same boat, so I'd bet it won't be hard finding someone who wants to switch.

Akinari 09-17-2014 06:46 PM

Jesus 5.8GB needed for a 1.1GB update.

Sometimes not even I know why Apple does this...and I answer questions like this every day.
