Without a third party jailbreak app I don't see a comparable solution. Apple doesn't build it in because cutting off data at a certain threshold cripples the "user experience" that Apple products are designed around.
My advice is to download the app for your carrier (all the major ones have apps) and set a repeating weekly calendar event to check the usage.
You can also call your carrier and ask them to send you SMS warnings but since the new CRTC cellular changes that went out the window for most.

Rogers says you have to monitor their app to watch your data, there is no other reputable source according to them.
Because the month I went over 30mb on my 6GB plan, my phone had been reset about 1.5 months earlier in the billing cycle and it only showed 5.5 gigs used, so i phoned in and said how the hell can I be over this month when in the last month and a half I've only used 5.5 total usage? Said that's not accurate bla bla bla and you need to monitor through rogers app :/

Mildly off topic but is it completely impossible now to downgrade back to iOS 7.x?
My iPad 4 is laggy as hell even with a fresh restore. Argh.

Kind of a no brainier to me... Not just an extended warranty but also covers accidental damage (limited to 2 incidents with $79 deductible).
With applcare if you drop your iphone 6 you have paid $99 for the warranty and $79 for the repair... Without you will pay approx $350 for a replacement screen, Apple won't repair damage to the phone casing/body but they may offer a full hardware replacement for an even higher cost.

Credit card warranties will extend your standard warranty to 2 years anyways.

I think that 299 figure is in USD so probably more like 350 here...
If only the screen is cracked you pay the 130 figure, if there are any other signs of damage then you have to pay the 299 replacement price.
In the event of a dropped phone Applecare including the first deductible is less than 200, still a better deal than paying 299. Also extends the warranty to 2 years including the accessories and battery.
Credit card warranties will double the manufacturers warranty with some exclusions in the underwriting. I wonder if batteries are covered? Most cards also offer damage or loss protection but only for the first 90 days.

$299 for Canada as well.
Apple ships your phone and repairs the screen for $130 - they won't charge you the $299.
Dropped iPhone - yes you pay $178 if you drop your phone but you're guaranteed to pay $100 if you do not.
The credit card warranty will typically cover any costs after the first year (not related to accidental damage) so battery replacements if deemed necessary by the genius will be covered.

When I was done had around 23% left with decent to heavy use all day. With iOS 8.1 seems like its draining abit more then usual tho.

the way i look at it is the $99 is a small price to pay to extend the normal warranty another year and cover accidental damage with the $79 deductible for those oh crap scenarios that you never expect to happen. also allows 2 replacement incidents, $99+79+79 is way better than $369+369, just saying...

quick question say if have applecare+ and you scratched your iphone6 screen could you set up and appointment at genius bar for them to replace it? Or does your screen have to be fully messed up ie: broken...mine already has scratches on the screen but are not noticeable.

I believe in the fine print that a replacement is only given if the screen is no longer operational. Cosmetic damages do not result in a replacement.
