Here is a pretty good write up:

What?s Cheaper? Unlocked iPhone 6 Prices vs Contracts Compared | iPhone in Canada Blog - Canada's #1 iPhone Resource

Basically with plans you are paying about 10% in interest to finance the phone.

yes it definitely fall within range of the problem serials, even the store manager acknowledged this fact, but he insists that even tho the serial falls within range, it might not have a problem which his diagnostic tool is showing him. the reasoning went back and forth and got no where, he just shrugged me off and told me to update to ios8.1 and the issue will be fixed. lol this time ill have actual proof of the issue so he cant possibly deny me again... but i foresee him being a bitch abt it.

You know, if someone was really mean, they could report your IMEI as stolen just to screw around with you.

that was recorded on purpose to show that the phone in the vid was indeed the phone im bringing in incase i needed to show them "proof" of whats wrong. but it was all good since i dealt with another manager and this one was a lot more straight up than the previous one i dealt with.

Just picked up a new Iphone 6 64G for $308 tax's in at Telus. (sold my old iphone 5 for $200, so makes the upgrade costing me only $100.) They have a excellent promo going on where they discount the phone another $100 if you link your telus tv and internet to your mobile phone (total $585 off) and also get a additional $5 a month off your phone plan. Got hooked up on the loyalty 85 plan (pretty good plan as it include unlimited everything talk/text/voicemail/etc. and only 3G data which is sufficient for me) for $80+tax per month. That includes the 5 dollars off a month bonus.

Ch28 11-11-2014 09:07 PM

$80+ month plan = good deal?

I had the student 65 plan on the 3 year before that but with all the add ons(nationwide calling, early evenings, etc) ... It came to $90, with this new plan I'm getting unlimited talk time vs 200 minutes of talk time on the old plan during the day. At the end of the day, it works out better since I rarely go over 2Gig usage and I use my phone a fair bit traveling across Canada on business trips! I haven't seen a phone bill under $160 for the last 2 years!

JSALES 11-12-2014 06:36 PM

it's too bad the screen protectors for the iphone 6 don't cover the entire screen

hillmar 11-12-2014 07:51 PM

Looking into a nice case for my new iphone 6, anybody have any experience with Element cases?
Really like the Sector line.
Element Case - iPhone, iPad, and Samsung Galaxy S3 cases and accessories

Hondaracer 11-12-2014 08:07 PM

for me, plans are all about the data.

I was going over 6 gigs before, now me and my GF share 8 with the shared plan 110+65 for additional line, unlimited everything but data

Its all fine that all those plans and buying a phone outright then using that guys $65 plan example, but no plan that cheap has enough data for me so basically forced to do a HUP and resign the shared plan :/

Given the state of current internet consumption, this lousy data limits that CDN/US carriers are imposing make me cry.

I have been in Taiwan for the last month for business and I'm using over 75GB a month over LTE (average speed of over 50mbps btw). Now I have been spoiled... not sure how I'm getting back to my pathetic 5GB/month plan in Canada.

That's cause you don't have [/use your] a internet connection at the hotel / when you're at meetings, etc. Where you would normally have WiFi at home/work.

Hehe 11-13-2014 07:43 AM

^

But it's a totally different experience...

When I was in Canada, the first thing I do after arriving any place is to make sure I'm connected to the wifi... with unlimited LTE, everywhere is my workplace and I never try to find wifi anymore. This should be how advance in wireless technology allow us.

And I have Wifi at my place in Taiwan...

All we can do is blame the "Big Three" As long as there isn't more choices to pick from there will always be data limit.
