5th gen prelude So I am having a issue with my prelude window. The passenger side rolls down normally but it probably end up like my driver side soon. The window for my driver side is a pain in the ass, it would roll down and roll up but it seems like it is having trouble. I would have to use my hand and pull it towards my trunk in order to get it to close. If I don't use my hand it would struggle it way up. But when I wash my car it would be back to normal.. I am sure this is a problem to many older vehicles. Have any of you guys encounter this problem?? I'm afraid to use my window as it would make a sound too as it goes down too. |
5th gen prelude Shin-etsu grease will solve your problem |
I don't think my car's window was as bad as yours, but at one point the passenger window was struggling a little bit and making a smudging sound. Put some Vaseline on the window slit and voila MAGIC |
Yeah sounds like either the internal mechanism or the rubber seal around the glass is getting sticky. |
Use silicone lubricant around the rubber seals and check to see if the mechanism is the issue. If you do replace the motor, get some masking tape and tape it to the top of the door so it won't fall down when you're fixing it. |
Thanks for the advice guys. Will surely try some lubrication |

^is that what u used? Is there a certain type of brand I am looking for? I was planning on going to Canadian tire but I just didn't know what I was looking for. |
Thx, was a Broken motor |
Whenever I washed my Prelude or it rained, my passenger side window would hop up and down in half inch jumps. but the drivers side always worked fine. Without doing anything it seems to have stopped now. |
