The 2nd house is a deal compared to the first. The Abby mansion is just a big pit to throw money into. Maintenance + utilities, alone, would be a super-big headache.

Or hire award winning interior home designers to stage it to attract buyers. Yeah its in Abbotsford but for country folks who like the suburb life this is an amazing house with acreage. Build tennis court, basketball court, mini golf or go cart would be so fun. No annoying neighbors and plenty of privacy. Could around naked inside and nobody would see.
I would never freely live in Abbotsford but if it meant I could live in this house I would change my mind instantly. Have a penthouse in Yaletown for summers and live in this Abbotsford for the winters. Ain't shit to do when its raining so just hire DJ's and have huge parties everyday when its raining.
After looking at the video that house is ugly as fuck and the only thing that's worth something is the property. Better off demoing is and subdividing the property since it needs so much work

500k would not do it. The whole house has to be gone threw from top to bottom to see if everything works. The whole house probably should be repainted. The home theater needs a minimum of 50 to 100 k in work alone and lets not forget A/V for the rest of the house. How much is it going to cost to get wifi for the whole house? The landscaping would be another easy 50K. The pool probable needs a bunch of work too. All that is just to start.
You also would have a hard time finding people to do the work. No one wants to finish someone other persons work.

The same house in Vancouver's overbloated market would cost $100+M guaranteed. Granted its in Abottsford. Nicklebacks Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne also live Abottsford.

I'd build in abbotsford or Langley for sure, I want pivate acerage not side by side west houses where you're looking Into your neighbors kitchen.
However I don't think it's ignorant to call this house an abomination to anyone who knows anything about finishing etc. Look at that master it's got that huge feature on the ceiling then seemingly no crown, baseboard, built ins etc.
