Hiking Season 2014 That depressing period between snowboarding season and hiking season has finally ended! Anybody have any hikes planned for this year? Anyone have a favourite hike? I'm planning my first hike of the season for next weekend, but haven't decided where yet, probably the Chief, or Seymour as a good warm up. I thought this would be a good place to plan hikes, or post about completed hikes. On my list this year are: - The Chief (2nd time) - Semaphore (2nd, overnight) - Elfin Lakes (2nd, overnight) - Wedgemount (1st, potential overnight) - Garibaldi (2nd time) - did this as a day hike last time but I'd like to camp overnight and try to do Panorama Ridge or Black Tusk the next day (anyone done either?) This link is already making the rounds here: Hiking Trails Sorted by Name | Vancouver Trails |
I'm not sure if you guys will consider the grouse grind as a hike but if anyone does decide to go there or if you're a regular there, you can get free parking. If you have an Open Road license plate you can park at any parking lot. It'll save you from having to pay for hourly parking or a season parking pass. I know open road toyota at the richmond auto mall gives out free license plates. Not sure about the other open road dealerships though. http://openroadautogroup.com/blog/fr...rouse-mountain |
So far this year ive done Lindeman Lake in Chilliwack which was really fun but not very challenging and Lighthouse Park on the northshore which was pretty easy but had an amazing view. |
you can probably hike up the garibaldi lake and also do black tusk in a day... :) I've done it... its not so bad... hahaha..damn those flies !!! haha |
Hi everyone ! I'm new here, so hello ! I love hiking and want to get out to some spots away from Vancouver, but currently hike the grouse grind a few times per month. My best time is 1 hr 4 min. What's yours ? |

Anyone know if lowered car can make it to the first parking lot at garibaldi lake park? |
Going up to Tricouni peak tomorrow. I hear it's muddy. Has anyone been? |
Tricouni is beautiful but a long stretch of trekking through mud and then hours of boulder field. Fell in some knee-deep mud on the way out and busted up my arm on a big rock. Could have been worse, nothing broken, and still in ok enough shape to hike again this weekend. I was worried about injury on the boulder field and it was the damn mud that took me down! |
does anyone know how challenging the The Lions Binkert Trail is? in comparison to hikes like the chief, eagles bluff, diez vistas, grind, etc |
Did the sea to summit. Was very hard anyone else did it? |
The best hike of the season: Joffre Lakes |
