I don't mind Johnson (he is ex-TSN and did the later broadcasts including many a Canuck games). Romanuk though- it seems like he's yelling at me every time he speaks. If he tones it down, it'd be ok. He's been calling games in Europe forever, so it's not like he doesn't know what he's doing. But he's definitely no Miller/Cuthbert/Shorthouse. I'm going to miss national TSN games. |
im not gonna miss shorthouse fucking up on peoples names "and burrows scores! pardon me make that Kassian" "big hit by beiksa! sorry that was hamhuis" "big save by lack!, actually it was luongo" |
Never heard shorthouse fuck up many times at all? Apparently they said on 1040 this morning they got snubbed for the "national" broadcasts which were yesterday, regional sportsnet stuff they will be calling the games. Can't stand the sportsnet panel though, kyprios and company uhg... |
I dunno why but this goal just makes me smile |

Last night was brutal.... There were times where they clearly could not follow the play and just went silent. Then all of a sudden, when someone scores, they abruptly yell 'SCORES!' -____- |

Love the Ref cam. What took so long?! Weird, I liked these announcers. Couldn't stand Shorthouse & Garrett. Don't like the homer announcers. |

mike johnson is good... the other announcer sucks though |
Are John and John still calling the games on Team 1040? I would rather mute the TV and listen to Cheech n Shorty call the game on AM radio, instead of listening to that lame excuse of canucks commentary from last night. |
Mallet, Fox, and Valk assigned to Kalamazoo (ECHL). I would think Fox and Mallet would be able to stick and play in Utica. |

lol damn, what a demotion, I guess Fox had to be pretty shitty to be dumped in the ECHL. |
Wow, Fox... easily the biggest disappointment of camp that's for sure. |
Can't believe Mallet was a 2nd rounder too. |
Kesler scores in his first game as a Duck on the PP |

Didnt some of you say hes the french Lucic :fuckthatshit: |
Plenty of good players spent time in the ECHL. While it's not a good sign, it's not exactly the unescapable abyss or career death sentence that it's made out to be. For example, Burrows was still playing in the ECHL at age 24. Girardi and Beauchemin also spent limited time in the ECHL. And most NHL goaltenders were in the ECHL at some point early in their pro careers. I'm not saying they're sure-fire NHLers, but I wouldn't call them busts just because they were sent down to the ECHL. Sometimes it's just to get those players more ice time for development. |
So I won both grand prizes in Canucks Fantasy Hockey last year and I was having problems with the marketing department collecting my tickets for months (since mid-June). I won't go into details, but suffice to say I was getting frustrated. Well, I finally decided to go above their heads and e-mailed Trevor Linden directly last weekend, not actually thinking anything would happen, but figured it was worth a shot. Today, I received a call from his assistant and she offered me tickets to the home opener and sent me an e-mail asking me to let her know about the remaining tickets :fuckyea: Linden (and his assistant) are the best. Not sure where the seats are, but extremely stoked to go to the home opener. Edit: Also, apparently they're giving out free beer at the door! Yay! |
