I'm hoping for Sam Bennett.

Ch28 06-24-2014 05:11 PM

Bergeron for Selke and Rask for Veins

Bruins FTW!

Hondaracer 06-24-2014 05:21 PM

Would be finally migrating towards a North American core

blew my mind when i found out he couldn't do a pull up lol

I somehow doubt Chicago would give up TT or Saad...man, all these rumours and speculations, I can't wait til the draft. Better not be a letdown.

UFO 06-24-2014 05:59 PM

I hope this new regime aren't making moves for the sake of making THEIR mark on the team. Seems kind of unnecessary to make such a push to move up to #1 pick this year in a draft with so many question marks

highfive 06-24-2014 06:00 PM

Wouldn't but surprised if saad is offered. I don't think hawks can sign him next year with toews and Kane kicking into ufa.

If you think about it. It's a testament for someone who can't do a pull up to be top 3 in the 2014 draft.

To me, I think Bennett's potential is higher than Ekblad's or Reinhart's potential.

If the Canucks can pull off a 3 way deal.

Van: Saad, TT, and 1st pick 2014
Chicago: Kesler and Florida's 32nd
Florida: Tanev, 6th pick and 36th pick and Chicago's 27th pick

But giving up Saad and TT might be pushing it.

6o4__boi 06-24-2014 06:24 PM

That's one way of looking at it. It just really caught me off guard because i always assume that these prospects are up there in terms of strength.

Lol Chicago would be stupid to give up Saad and TT...as much as i'd like that, the only way i see this happening is in NHL 15

As much as you think it won't happen.

Bowman has a smaller and smaller window to win another cup.Cruising with the Toews/Kane wave for another couple of years or bet on Saad/ Shaw/ Teravainen will be Chicago's future.

So it's win now, or stay a contender 5 years from now.

I think the 3 cup win for Chicago would be mean open season for the youngest to be brought into the fold.

nah, brah. you make it seem like Toews and Kane are getting old. Kane is 25 and Toews is 26, they can cruise with those two guys for at least four more years if not more. Bowman's window to win another and then another cup is sitting pretty for a long while even if he does nothing major in the offseason

Mike Oxbig 06-24-2014 07:09 PM

Toews and Kane are the best hockey duo in this generation., they'll probably win 3 more cups together

Nathan Mckinnon - Rookie of the year
Ryan O'reily - Sportsman for the year

Avs FTW! :)

Actually, that wasn't what I was saying.

Kane has an option of leaving Chicago and Toews can leave Chicago too.

You make it seem like Toews/Kane are a lock in Chicago for the rest of their careers. I don't think Kane will stay if Chicago doesn't provide a legit #2 center for him to play with.

Chicago is one of the craziest hockey/sports town in North America. If Toews and Kane stay in Chicago through out their entire career, they will be going down as one of the greatest players ever played next to Lemieux, Yzerman, Sakic, Howe, etc.

Maybe they will go back to their hometown and try to win one there.

Easy to say that now, but just only a decade ago Chicago's rink wasn't selling out and the team stunk.

The issue is how to keep Kane/Toews when they become UFA's AND keep the crop of up and coming talent signed up after their entry level deals expire. If the Sedins were able to sign 4 years at 7M per in the declining stages of their careers, you can bet Kane/Toews are going to cash in as they enter the primes of their careers and UFA status

Mike Oxbig 06-24-2014 11:24 PM

The old Blackhawks owner was an asshole trying to take advantage of the fan base by not broadcasting games making them PPV as we call it.

Any super Blackhawks fan here? I wonder Hull/Mikkita or Toews/Kane is a better duo?

Tim Budong 06-24-2014 11:26 PM

Dregger is reporting that Toews/Kane could be making 10-12mil each

VIDEOHUB

kinda steep. but I hear guys like sharp are on the market
haha

UFO 06-24-2014 11:27 PM

PPV was not uncommon back in the day though. I recall Canucks did it too. I'd be surprised if there were any teams that didn't do it. Back then I don't even think 50% of Canucks games were broadcast on TV

stuff99 06-25-2014 01:02 AM

I don't get why some consider Tanev untouchable...I'd trade any of our Ds for the first overall pick.

In the early 2000's if my memory serves me right you were lucky if more then 1 in 5 Canuck's regular season games was televised.

I believe in Chicago it was home games that were not televised and you're right Wirtz wasn't the only one out there doing it many believe it somehow put butts in the seats but the reality is the only thing that does that is winning. The BC Lions did it as well, don't think they do anymore but home games were blacked out for the longest time.

411ken 06-25-2014 08:01 AM

Adam Proteau ‏@Proteautype 2m

Oilers sign Nikita Nikitin to two-year, $9-million deal. NHL's mediocre UFA players to demand trades only to Edmonton from this point on.

stuff99 06-25-2014 08:04 AM

@News1130Sports
Have learned the #Canucks have called the agent for UFA Dave Bolland. General talks have taken place.

@News1130Sports
The Bolland camp won't do anything with Vancouver until they resolve the Ryan Kesler situation.
