What surprises me the most about Kesler's stat line is the -3. How is he a -3 on what appears to be one of the strongest 2-3 teams in the west?

Hondaracer 10-31-2014 07:10 AM

Kes will finish higher than Bonino once the seasons over

Jmac 10-31-2014 07:13 AM

Kesler 2 even-strength points in 11 games.

Bonino with 8 ES points in 10 games.

6o4__boi 10-31-2014 07:50 AM

:fuckthatshit: 11 games in lol
those stats are meaningless

Hondaracer 10-31-2014 08:19 AM

Also Kes probably plays every situation and maybe even first or at the very least, second unit PK

If you're always going up against the other teams top units you'll probably be getting scored on.

Burrows to have phone hearing for hit on Emelin.

murd0c 10-31-2014 08:43 AM

he will get 2 games for the hit.. To be honest it was a shot to the head and he should get a couple games for it.

6o4__boi 10-31-2014 09:35 AM

2 games is total bullshit
even 1 is stupid imo

he was bracing for a shoulder to shoulder contact, at the speed he's going, how's he supposed to know that Emelin was gonna wobble and his head will go down a bit

but then again since when did these things ever go our way

call on the ice was the right one, no penalty, no suspension.

every time i look at it...it's Emelin's fault for being such a nub and going off balance, he pretty much turned so that his head was the principle point of contact.

Well, Kerry Fraser thinks there were two picks that were missed while we were on the power play in OT: Vrbata on Plekanac, and Bieksa on Malhotra...

Thanks!

I never go into the 300's, I always thought they're all HBO/PPV.

Alexandre Burrows Hit on Alexei Emelin, Bonino Scores (10/30/14) - YouTube

IMO, Emelin lost balance but recovered, but stayed in a low position with his knees bent.
Burrows, maybe expecting him to stand up, rather than stay low, ended hitting him in the head.

The problem I see here is that Emelin was never standing up-right in the first place,
so his "sudden" change of position wasn't him lowering his head into the hit.
Regardless if Emelin turned, Burrows looked like he was coming in for a high hit when Emelin was already in a low position.

I really think it's one of those borderline plays that could have been deemed suspend-able or not.

Vrbata on Plekanec wasn't a pick. Plekanec wasn't even moving.

Vancouver's Alex Burrows has been suspended for 3 games for his hit on Montreal's Alexei Emelin. Video: http://s.nhl.com/DEqUV

6o4__boi 10-31-2014 02:12 PM

wow...what fucking bullshit.
that's all I gotta say.
they always go out of their way to shaft Vancouver

it's a fucking joke.
if it was one of our players who got decked like that i wouldn't even be calling for a suspension...what a fucking joke league.

Tim Budong 10-31-2014 02:27 PM

Emilin's head snap was a bit exaggerated imo

reminds me of another russian playing for the habs to oversell injury

604778 10-31-2014 02:33 PM

Here's the explanation for the suspension..

Tim Budong 10-31-2014 02:35 PM

ok... hit was late.. agreed
elevated shoulders..fine
but 3 games is harsh for a very hard sell by emilin. I mean, seeing his arms go up like that reminds me of...

6o4__boi 10-31-2014 02:50 PM

the explanation of the situation isn't any better.

who's the dumb fuck reading it out? it just gets me pissed when even the guy reading it out seems biased as fuck.
there was clearly a hidden agenda in this suspension.

Tegra_Devil 10-31-2014 02:55 PM

ya'll know he was gonna get at least a 2-game, don't see why your complaining, its not van-hate. it is pretty obvious its illegal.

I don't know how many people here play hockey, but saying it was embellished is a little over the top. If you could take a shot with a shoulder, while your off balance, to the head, and not topple over like a doll, you are unnatural.

6o4__boi 10-31-2014 02:59 PM

John Moore got two games for this. Just throwin it out there.
Given, he got a penalty on the play...but the head was the point of contact the whole way.
Burrows hit was open to interpretation.

AzNightmare 10-31-2014 03:04 PM

Can fines actually be factored in as past history?
:suspicious:

I guess they should also be broken down whether they were on-ice or off-ice fines.

But then again, if Weber only got fined for smashing Zetterberg's head into the glass,
maybe some fines should be equivalent to suspensions...
