This Garry Galley dude....not only does he suck at calling games but he's gotta get off EDM's dick.

Ference - "I'm surprised I got a penalty. It was a good bodycheck."

Yeah i tried looking for a highlight package from Canucks on youtube, they only show the single goals seperately for now. probably will come out tmr.

anyways on Sbsia:

Another goal from him! guy seems to have a decent shot at least
Anyone watch the entire game? How was he overall?

DontFrontOnMe 11-01-2014 09:17 PM

Highlights are up

Horvat plays in the Nashville game today. I think that Sestito is sitting out this game. :woot2:

Ference to have a hearing.

Not sure what it entails yet. Got the notification via ESPN.

Voted by OHL coaches as best at faceoffs last year.

Something we desperately need.

H. Sedin - 51.1% (112/219)
N. Bonino - 43.0% (80/186)
B. Richardson - 50.0% (75/150)
L. Vey - 40.5% (32/79)
S. Matthias - 42.5% (17/40)

Total - 46.0% (319/693)

I'm actually surprised Henrik is over 50% because it doesn't seem like it. Richardson was at 55.2% last year, so he's having a rough year in the dot, but the others have never been good at faceoffs.

jeedee 11-02-2014 11:20 AM

With a faceoff specialist like Kesler gone it's no surprise the Canucks are struggling at faceoffs...

but 2nd last in the league in faceoffs....next to the Buffalo Sabres

It's okay. CoHo is playing on the fourth line.

If trends continue, he might ask for a trade out of Buffalo.

I wouldn't consider Kesler a faceoff "specialist", but he was certainly above average.

Kesler's 3-year running average (11-12, 12-13, 13-14) is 53.5% (he's at 53.6% this year).

Aren't some of those numbers "inflated"?

Factoring that some guys take more faceoffs than others due to PK & PP as opposed to just even strength (which would make Keslers percentage lower since he takes all 3, no?)

Meh im not really good at numbers so it'd probably only make a 0.3% difference :lol

Nabatron 11-02-2014 12:04 PM

If Horvat draws in I see Sestito out and Bo playing with vey and doreset. With Bo either playing centre on that line or just taking faceoffs and swapping to wing after.

If anything, it inflates the numbers of PK specialists as top offensive players tend to be worse at faceoffs than top defensive players.

Average of bottom 50 in points per game (min. 1000 faceoffs): 51.9%
Average of top 50 in points per game (min. 1000 faceoffs): 50.3%

Although Sbisa is a minus when it comes to playing defence for us, he has some offensive upside.

trancehead 11-02-2014 03:41 PM

Derek Dorsett been getting some points lately (in his bottom 6 role of course)
Also, here is him in the Caps game in a scrum with Brooks Orpik

He takes Orpik's own helmet off and starts beating him with it:
