Players/coaches will always use the rules to their advantage. And then the rules will be updated accordingly.

It'll be interesting to see how they update the rules accordingly, when as it stands, any penalty or consequence is better than a 2 - 0 breakaway; especially with respect on the video posted as the 2 - 0 break started from mid ice.

What a goal, NYR playing with half an AHL defence group tonight and Tarasenko made the whole team look like an AHL team

I've always been a fan of the suggestion that a 2-minute minor (or longer if appropriate) should follow a penalty shot if the penalty shot is unsuccessful.

That's silly. Not only are you getting your grade A scoring chance again at your pace/setup from centre ice, but throw in a PP if you're unsuccessful?

A bit of both... but any time a loophole is exploit, it's most likely going to be a weasel move.

Goalie "fixing" equipment to stall time. Purposely getting thrown out of the faceoff circle to stall, etc. (Not sure if amendments have been made for these)

:lol reward a 2-0 penalty shot from center ice.

rsx 11-03-2014 11:54 PM

Why didn't they just give the team a 2-0 breakaway. If a goalie decides to do that, the team should be able to choose a 2-0 breakaway or a 10 minute pp.

Success rate of a penalty shot: 32.5%
Success rate of typical PP: 18%

Would increase success rate to 44.5%, still less than a 50% chance of scoring.

BoHo will be making his debut tonight.

No update from Desjardins on Bieksa, but he "expects him to go" tonight. Willie is also "excited for Bo" and hopes he has fun. #Canucks

Aw yeah, it's good to get Juice back in the lineup! WD can lower Hammer's playing minutes. We need our d-men to be fresh, especially for this brutal road trip. Four games in six nights mainly against the tough California teams in our division.

6o4__boi 11-04-2014 12:14 PM

i'm pretty excited to see how stack up (or don't) to the best of the west
was getting tired of watching against crap teams or teams playing on back to backs.

pastarocket 11-04-2014 12:44 PM

Who thinks Bieksa will wear a visor for tonight's game?

Visor or not, Canucks' Bieksa expected to play - Sportsnet.ca

Bieksa, 33, wore a visor during the game-day skate with the club but would not reveal if he would use it in game action.

“Whether or not I wear a visor is a personal decision and a family decision. It’s not something I’m going to sit here and debate in public,” Bieksa told reporters in Denver after the skate.

Tim Budong 11-04-2014 04:37 PM

No Sbisa tonight

:) AWESOME

Hondaracer 11-04-2014 04:39 PM

Bieksa don't wanna put a visor on cause he'll be letting Cherry down

XplicitLuder 11-04-2014 04:43 PM

out of the 4 games coming up what do you guys wanna see ? 2-2 for me, but a 2-1-1 would be pretty sweet :concentrate:
