I don't think that was a sucker punch. The whole time Prout was skating away and Lucic was skating forward grabbing at the jersey. Prout drops the glove and Lucic gave a right gloved jab. Lucic got owned.

At least you got assets for Kesler. Sundin refused to waive his well-earned NTC with the Leafs until it was too late for a trade and he walked away for nothing. Yet fans were happy to see him move on for a chance at a cup, even if it ended up being with the canucks. Not only did he receive a standing ovation in his return, we cheered as he scored the game-winning shootout goal against us because we were able to witness his greatness one last time. Who knows, Kesler is relatively young, maybe he will return someday to finish off his career. I'm pretty sure most of you will welcome him back with open arms.
As for that kid... hes got the skills, but does he have the size and strength to play on this side of the pond?
The kid is 11. If you mean by having the strength and speed to play in North America as a kid, I doubt it matters. If you mean whether he'll have it when he grows up to be an 18 year old, I'm sure he'll be given every opportunity to succeed if he really wants to be in the NHL. There isn't as much of an emphasis on size as there was in the dead-puck era. If he can skate and has hands like Pat Kane, he'll have the opportunities to be an NHLer.
lol not the first time lucic has sucker punched someone
and if that japanese kid gets the proper training regimne diet and the whole works, comes over to NA, he has a chance of playing in the NHL

And, yet, the highest scoring dman in the CHL this year by 5 points (4th overall in WHL scoring), who was first pair alongside Aaron Ekblad as the U18 WJCs last year, went undrafted (signed by Detroit after outplaying Sproul and Ouellet in camp).
Lucic was legit in 2011. I could respect that.
His shit lately is fucking embarrassing. It's pretty hard to upstage a clown like Marchand but he's been doing a good job of it lately.
just play to your strengths. this universe is about tradeoffs.
if you are big, use that to muscle your way through.
-- if you are a Milan Lucic, you just punch your way through everything. And tell people your gonna fucking kill them next year
if you are small, you better be fast and shifty as fuck. your power is probably more calculated
Another issue is that size is not purely based on height and weight. Look at his natural bone mass. Look at how much muscle they can genetically efficiently put on without it being detrimental to his cardio, speed, eating habits. And some people are just naturally stronger than others pound for pound.
Look at St Louis. hitting his greybeard years while at 5'7 but still got great wheels
Datsyuk, one of the most skilled stick handlers in the game. Probably just 5'10 even though hes listed at 5'11 and weights ~175 soaking wet. This guy is magician
longevity is another thing. Look at Lidstrom. At 6 feet, hes at an average height. But he played a very calculated game and lasted past 40(~). Used more of his smarts

Size matter and puck possession, thats why Jamior Jaguar is still playing at 45. He's so slow yet nobody can take the puck away from him.
He's also been very lucking being healthy most of his career, he still has an impact on the game even tho he's slow.. He' really the last superstar that we watched going up in the early/mid 90's and it will be sad when he finally hangs his skates up.
Report: Canucks' Hamhuis likely to miss 'months' with lower-body injury
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis is likely to be out for the medium- to long-term as a result of a freak lower-body injury sustained Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks.
From Dhiren Mahiban of Pro Hockey Talk:
For now Hamhuis' injury - which is undisclosed - isn't expected to end the veteran defender's season, though he'll surely miss a good portion of time.
Officially there's no update on Hamhuis' status from the club at the time of this writing.
Though Hamhuis has struggled in the early going this season, he has been the Canucks' most consistent two-way defenseman since he joined the club in the summer of 2010. Hamhuis hasn't been playing a bona fide top pairing role at 5-on-5 for the Canucks this year, but he remains a key penalty-killer and logs time on the power play.
The absence of Hamhuis' all-around game will likely be keenly felt by a Canucks side that is off to a stellar 13-6-1 start to the year.
Expect Luca Sbisa - who is also banged up - and Ryan Stanton to log more minutes in Hamhuis' absence. It's probable that the Canucks' three remaining credible tough-minutes defensemen - Alex Edler, Chris Tanev and Kevin Bieksa - will also see their minutes burden spike while Hamhuis convalesces.
We are so fucked, outside of the Edler Tanev pairing everyone else has been atrocious. Bieksa playing over 25m a game?
Sbisa still nursing a foot injury, Corrado and Weber probably not gonna log heavy minutes, Stanton and Bieksa were only good last year cause they were playing bottom 6 mins a lot

When was the last time the Canucks ever had a full healthy d pairings?!
