RIP, Victor Tikhanov. He was legendary, indeed.

RIP to two hockey greats.

RIP to Mr. Quinn.

Who thinks that Horvat should stay on the fourth line?

We need this kid. -big guy that plays smart, is getting points to help the team, and a faceoff specialist. 13/16 face offs won last night vs. Chicago centres.

-wonder if Benning is leaning towards having Bo Ho stay with the team. :suspicious:

Willes: Canucks high on Bo Horvat

SkinnyPupp 11-24-2014 07:37 AM

RIP :(

After last nights game getting 3 assists and being an incredible 81% in the faceoff against one of the best teams in the NHL I can guarantee you he will be staying with the team. He's playing great and its only been his 8th NHL game.

RIP Quinn & Tikhonov Sr, 2 great hockey minds

He is a great player no doubt he will stay with us but the question is will he be like this for the majority of season.

that's a long shot that he'll be good for the majority of the season, some bad games here and there are to be expected. If he could at least continue his faceoff dominance that's a good enough reason to stay.

Gumby 11-24-2014 08:36 AM

What kind of silly rink design is this? Do they not have a tunnel that leads directly to the dressing room/staff-only areas?!

Armind 11-24-2014 08:38 AM

Shall we begin making BoHo banners? :lol

chouchou 11-24-2014 08:40 AM

bleh. RIP

RRxtar 11-24-2014 09:00 AM

While his faceoff % last night was crazy, hes been doing quite well in most of his games so far. Hes had 91 faceoffs and is at 60.4%. Hank is at 52% and no one else is above 50. Might be beginners luck or he might have a technique that other players will catch onto, but so far its looking good. Hes also a +1 and logged over 14 minutes against LA and Chicago so it looks like they trust him.

I was listening to Jake and Pratt and was just pulling into work when they announced Pat Quinn's passing. Shitty way to start my day. He will be missed.

I'm so glad i was able to attend his ROH last year for Pat.

Something the Oilers can learn from.

The model franchise: of the 20 players playing for the Red Wings tonight, 16 are Detroit drafts. Two others were undrafted free agents.

Of the 16 drafted players in the Detroit lineup, 13 were picked after the first round. That doesn't include the injured Pavel Datsyuk.
Proper way of developing your players.

Tim Budong 11-24-2014 11:36 AM

RIP Coach
Hall of Famer indeed

as for drafting, im sure a lot of teams would love to be able to scout like the wings
shit is difficult and drafting is a huge crap shoot

Boostslut 11-24-2014 12:50 PM

Crazy sad news, RIP. Legend in the hockey community.

Holy crap. So these posts got me curious so I started to look at the Canucks drafting record.
I know it wasn't great, but I couldn't believe it was this bad.
Vancouver Canucks Draft History at hockeydb.com
Not including the past 4 drafts for obvious reasons, the Canucks drafting record is horrible.
2010, 5 players drafted and not 1 game played in the NHL between them.
2009, only notables are Jordan Schroeder and Kevin Connauton.
2008, only 1 player worth noting. Cody Hodgson.
2007, 6 players drafted and not 1 gamed played in the NHL between them.
2006, only Michael Grabner is in the NHL.
2005, rest his soul, Luc Bourdon and Mason Raymond.
2004 was the last decent year the Canucks had, drafting Schneider, Edler, Mike Brown and Hansen.

Expresso 11-24-2014 02:04 PM

Man Luc Bourdon...

Guy was actually turning into a solid blue liner, could be a top pairing right now.

spoon.ek9 11-24-2014 02:24 PM

sad news..

let's lighten the mood a bit:

makaveli highlights of last night:

Tim Budong 11-24-2014 02:24 PM

Canucks have a terrible draft history. The oilers on the other hand. Have all the right guys...but its clearly lacking something. I mean look at how the canucks gave up on Neely

I read somewhere saying that cbj had the best track record in the past 10 years. This is calculates by the no. Of games their draft pick an have played in the league. Detroit may habr drafted well, but their track recors in the last few years have yet to be seem. Mantha, Nyqvist, Tatat and that kid that dangles. All great, but thats it for now. Guess which team sits at the bottom.
