If this was a still picture, it's good. The fact that it's an animated GIF makes it awesome.

Five minutes before the end of the 3rd period, and 17 seconds into OT:

As someone who really only got into the game and became a Canucks fan during the '94 run... I can relate to a lot of this :okay:

Hondaracer 12-04-2014 06:27 AM

Lol oilers, fucking pathetic

However... we don't have foolish management... (yet to be seen)
although we dont have any "glory" to call our own...

we dont DWELL so much on the past that it becomes an embarrassment.

Oilers need to clean house plain and simple.
they keep recycling the same execs who have absolutely no idea what they're doing
and don't have the guts or the balls to make the necessary moves, I don't know how long they can keep making excuses when they have zero wins against their own conference.

It's not knee-jerk response, but it's just fucking embarassing when you can't even eke out a win in your own conference. I don't know why fire alarm bells aren't ringing in that organization. Jesus Christ on skates at first overall next year couldn't save their sinking ship.
Eakins is clearly incapable of being an NHL head coach

Suck it up and trade your young guns for grit and heart. They're just festering in Edm and wasting the early part of their careers.

I hate to sound like an armchair GM but the solution is so simple. Apparently no one in that organization knows what to do and is just hoping for another 1st overall to save their bacons.

Canuck fans do dwell, and for almost as long as Oilers fans are dwelling in their past triumphs. We celebrate the Cup losses as much as Cup wins. Think about how much we Canuck fans revere the 94 team. Sure, they were an awesome underdog team, but they still lost. And yet we hang on to "the post" and "Messier cheapshot" as if it happened last season.

SkinnyPupp 12-04-2014 08:31 AM

I hate it when fans of a team who have never won anything constantly accuse fans of formerly winning teams of "dwelling on the past"

At least they have a past to dwell on :okay:

jeedee 12-04-2014 08:35 AM

Hmmm... I wonder who in their "big 4" will be first to go :suspicious:

Probably not Nugent-Hopkins since they need a center....

Mike Oxbig 12-04-2014 08:46 AM

^ After moving Perron, Ebs, andYak will play more to boost his value. Perron are type of plays organization needs for depth.

Edmonton has the best fans thats why they put up with that shit. If it was Vancouver..
:fuckthatshit: boycotts team if they dont make the playoffs.

Hondaracer 12-04-2014 08:56 AM

Even If they do get mcdavdid, that's not going to turn it around as it is now.

Look at their losses, even adding a goal a game wouldn't out them in a playoff position

Did you guys know about this?? First I have heard about the trade.

Throwing away third round picks

In case you missed it, the Canucks acquired another prospect last week. Jim Benning pulled the trigger on a minor deal that sent Alexandre Mallet and a 2016 third round pick to the New York Islanders for defenceman Andrey Pedan.

Here is Pedan’s bio, courtesy of the Canucks press release:

Pedan, 21, has played six games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this season, recording three assists and 51 penalty minutes. The Moscow, Russia native played three seasons with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League before making his professional debut in 2012.13 with the New York Islanders AHL affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers. During the 2010.11 season Pedan played for Russia at the World Junior Championships earning two points in six games and recording 25 penalty minutes.

The 6’4”, 210-pound defenceman was originally selected by the New York Islanders 63rd overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Mallet, the Canucks second round pick from only two years ago, scored just one goal last year in the AHL and is playing in the ECHL this year. He is already a bust. That’s Patrick White-like bust speed.

My issue here is that the Canucks are giving up a third round pick for a guy who has yet to establish himself as a fixture in the AHL. Sure, the Islanders may have a lot of defensive depth in their organization, but I would feel more comfortable giving up future assets for someone a bit more proven.

Hopefully Jim Benning knows something that I don’t with this one.

Also, whoever you're quoting sounds like an idiot. "Giving up future assets for someone a bit more proven"
