goodbye tostito, you won't be missed lol. at this point, the tortilla chips would serve more purpose to the team than him.

How come this season there's so little activity in this thread during games? I miss all the banter in the past even if half of it was laughable :D

Think you referenced the wrong (68) guy. :D

To be completely honest, I simply don't care as much any more after what happened the past few seasons.

Seems like I'm not the only one that feels that way based on the reduced activity in here.

Even the great start earlier in the season just reminds me of what happened last season. And so far, it seems to be living up as a repeat. It's tough to be positive looking at the roster. We're better than last season, but still too early in the season, and we can't assume the Canucks are going to get any post-season action this time.

For me the luster was lost when Lu didn't start the winter classic.

Lu is Prob my favorite player of all time, watched his career closely even as a panther shorty before he came to van. Once he was traded thay was officially the end of that era and really what's there to look forward to in this era? Until the Sedins are gone or have been supplanted by a established top line we will be lucky to get a sniff at the second round.

The 2011 run will always be an open wound for me as long as I live. Gonna be hard to replace that feeling, that lead up, that anticipation that somthing I had believed in for so long was finally going to come to fruition, then crumble miserably

It was embarrassing watching him shoot the puck at the boards in anger and then tripping over the net after that goal though.

If anyone comes out for another d-man, it's going to be Weber before Stanton... can pretty much guarantee that. Not saying I agree with it... but it's pretty clear what the pecking order is haha

This was my beef about Bieska since last season. Even when he was playing with Hamhuis, he would leave his check to go help Hamhius in the corner and bam. Puck is played to the middle to an open opposing team player.

He has very little offensive sense. If you watch all the rushes he makes with the puck, he never passes. He never looks up to look like he is making a pass. He drives down the wing and tries to blast it past the goalie.

It's unfortunate. In years past, they had guys like Rome and Alberts. They were always 7/8 in the depth chart and never get slotted in no matter how poorly the other D-men play.

And the same thing is happening now.

Bring Jensen up and he get's limited ice time on the 4th line.

The way I see it, the twins are closer to a second line than a top line. The Bonino Higgins experiment isn't bad except they don't seem to have that chemistry anymore. Maybe Kassian is what they need on that line to turn things around.
So far I don't have much complaints against the 3rd and 4th line.

I feel the same way, especially when he rushes the puck up the ice I know it's not going to go anywhere because he almost seems to go "Shit, I'm here now what do I do?" and just fires it into the goalies chest. I think I read way back when that Bieksa never even skated or played hockey until he was 13... despite all the talent and skill, it's this type of "hockey sense" stuff that really highlights the fact he didn't start early enough on his fundamentals maybe?

If it was true, it may explain some things about him, but unfortunately it's not.

I remember after that happened, I kind of boycotted and never watched a single game for the rest of the season. Not cause I was a huge Lu fan or anything, but only cause I was so disgusted with management/coach. I guess I forgot about that moment, cause the staff is new now, but the bitter affect still remains.

It's also funny how Makaveli on YouTube gave up on making Canuck highlights half way through last season. :lol

Also didn't help when Canucks didn't make it to the Playoffs. I usually make homer picks for Canucks in my pool. I had no one to cheer for so I loaded up on LA. And let's be honest, LA had really exciting hockey last playoffs, with all their Game 7 wins, coming back from 3-0 deficit. If money was on the line, they were worth cheering for in that 2 months of hockey. It finally made hockey interesting again for me again.

I like to think of it as having a crush on a girl for a long, long, time, but you're having no success. Then you get on a summer fling with another girl, then when it's all over, you don't like either one anymore...

damn those Isles are good!

Malkin gets into a bloody fight with team mate Craig Adams.

That Russian needs to keep stick down. He messed up Adams real good.

Nabatron 01-03-2015 11:25 AM

I didnt watch what happened just the after math with Adams all bloody. Why the fuck would a plug like Adams fight one of the star players on his team anyways? If Malkin broke his hand in the fight hes way more important to the team then trash bag Adams.

UNfortunately I went to that game, paid premium prices for the tickets too (bought too early, sigh). I was holding out what little chance there was that they would succumb to the public pressure and play Lu. The place would have went NUTS!... but that didn't happen... and it turned into a boring ass game, and we lost. I spent the majority of the game chanting for Lu and getting plastered.
