Question
I placed a bet on SpartanAirs ad winning the superbowl
But the site I used wouldn't let me use all my deposited money to place the bet (the maxbet they listed was a lie as i could only bet 1/2 of it)
So I had some money left and decided to bet on the Canucks game against the Ducks
The thing is I have no idea how sports betting works
And I made a bet like so (i bet on the Ducks fyi since the Nucks haven't beat em in forever) Quote:
Event 1: Anaheim at Vancouver (Third Period Correct Score )
Selection 1: Anaheim Any Other Victory
| the "any other victory" was the score being anything greater than a 2 nothing win for the Ducks
so did I win? (site i bet on doesn't seem to be updated yet) or lose? I'm confused by the 3rd period correct score i just went for the one with the best odds
I guess i'll find out soon enough but was curious

My expectations for this year isn't high.. if theres a playoff round sneaking in the wild card...then great. something to cheer for...
but when theres no effort on the ice...its like a slap in the face to fans.
for fuck sake, i hope this team doesn't play copy cat and become what the leafs have become in the past 20 few games getting shut the fuck out..

Empty seats will be more of a common occurrence here. That isn't the case in Toronto, hence the apathy towards change over there.

-gonna be interesting to see what Benning will do at the trade deadline.
Trade for a defenceman while Juice recovers from hand surgery? Get a younger, top forward who can put in the net? Get rid of dumbass Kassian?

I still can't get over the fact how shitty going to a live game was.
Is this normal, or do they really not bother showing any replays on the jumbotron if it's not in favour for the Canucks?
They opted out on Kassian's play that started the scrum. They didn't bother showing Hansen crosschecking the goalie. I probably missed out on some other plays that displayed idiocy from the Canucks side. That being said, it feels like I'm missing out on the game because during stoppage of play, they rather show players skating around close up.
I haven't been to a Canucks game this season, so I'm not sure if they changed some stuff, but I don't recall it ever being like this before.

yeah there's a lot of these Kassian - Bartkowski or (insert underachieving Bruin here) rumors swirling around.
sounds like a hockey deal, two players in need of change of scenery.
Though defense isn't exactly an issue with this team.

shitty thing is Bartkowski is a ufa at the end of the year and he could just walk...as for kass hes got one year left on his deal. I assume it would have to be bartkowski and pick/prospect for kass. I couldnt see this going one for one.

nah Bartkowski's got an expiring $1.2M contract.
Nothing shitty about his UFA status. He has 0G 18A this season. Hasn't been doing that well lately in Boston and isn't known for his offense. He doesn't have much leverage for a raise so realistically, he can be re-signed to a 2-3 year deal at a $2M AAV max.
If he can prove that he can be a top four dman in the nhl, gives the Canucks more options when Hamhuis/Bieksa/Edler get old/at the end of their contracts.
plus he'd be an upgrade over S'pizza, Stanton and Weber.

yeah true he is an upgrade over sbisa, stanton and weber. I dont really know much of the guy but all we know if he could end up being another bottom 6 dman. The canucks issue isnt defense anyways they need guys who can score. If the sedins arent scoring and the bottom 9 arent scoring either well then you will have alot of games like last night.

lol Kassian is gonna be a bust...i'm almost 90% certain.
Guy has zero motivation, lazy on simple plays, no compete, still makes brain dead plays.
Last night was great example of why he can't be trusted in the top six.
FFS, he's 24 with 181 games under his belt and with career highs of only 14 goals, he's more closer to being a Steve Bernier than he is a Todd Bertuzzi.
this whole power forward takes a while to develop is a load of shit and excuses.
sure, there's the 10% he might be an elite power forward but it ain't gonna be here.

no jimmies rustled, just found the 90% number funny. I don't disagree with any of what you said
In all honesty, I think we hold Kassian to a higher standard because of what Mike Gillis pegged him as when we acquired him, similar to how Kevin Weekes was proclaimed to be the goalie of the future. Was Steve Bernier held to that same level of scrutiny? It certainly softens the blow knowing that CoHo has more or less become just as irrelevant as Kassian.
Having said that, the Islanders traded away a young pre-developed Bertuzzi, promising young d-man in Bryan McCabe, and a 3rd rounder for a just past his prime Trevor Linden back in the day. So it shows what kind of value a non-developed potential power forward holds, or held.

Bert and Kass are very similar in a manner of speaking, Bert was tossed from NYI cuz he wasn't developing but also for attitude problems and taking stupid penalties. I wish I could say I see room for improvement in Kass tho... He doesn't have that "I'm gonna prove you fuckers wrong" glare that Bert had.
