Freidman reporting that Canucks might be interested in Hanzal but Maloney asking price is somewhere in the lines of Horvat + pick. WTF is he smoking..haha
lol i read that earlier...i don't even know how that can be considered a "rumor", Maloney is high on his ass,...and he wants Lazar+prospect/pick for Vermette
only Mike Milbury would make those trades.
If hanzel is a rental I say no to any trade for a rental player...need a young guy with term if your giving up on our young guys...but too tuff of a deal to make in this day in age!
We don't need a legit first line right now. The Sedins and Vrbata will do just fine. Need to stock up and develop players for two or three years down the line.
Hanzal is 27, good contract, 6'6" and is a pretty consistent offensive option at 30-40 points a season on a Coyotes team that has never been very good ever. If anything, that's a pretty solid third line centre that could be a second line/PP option as well.
However, we have Bonino on our 2nd line. Richardson is probably a better 4th liner than a 3rd liner and currently probably a better option than Horvat when he's healthy so that means Horvat is either a winger or in the press box.
So Hanzal wouldn't be a bad pickup but we're more in need on D and scoring wingers so I'd think the Canucks would take a run at Hanzal and possibly Yandle? Horvat for Yandle? Tough call. Yandle is a good offensive defenseman but he's only signed for another year.

Yeah...as much as Maloney says only Doan is untouchable, pretty sure Yandle is too. If he wants Lazar for Vermette I can only imagine what he'd want for Yandle.
Florida's run out of players they wanna trade us so we've gotta find a new trading partner
Kassian to be healthy scratch again tonight and according to Lebrun, Canucks not having easy time trading him

Lebrun on Kassian: Canucks have talked to a lot of teams about him the past month. They haven't found a suitor
One tbing I'll give torts is the guy was brutally honest, this management/coaching staff just seems to spew out the typical BS party line whenecer asked a tough question
