Henrik on Seguin/Benn comments: "I think it says more about them than it does about us"
Regardless of whether it was blown out of proportion, i hope the Stars force Seguin/Benn to make a public apology, just to make them realize how stupid they were.
Quote:
Jason Botchford of The Vancouver Province suggested Monday night that a package offer including blue chipper Jake Virtanen might be what it takes to land former Vancouver Giant Evander Kane from Winnipeg. But as Botchford adds, if the Canucks aren't willing to deal Virtanen (and aren't right now), they are saying Kane's "baggage" is riskier to them than whether or not they think Virtanen will become a dominant top six player.
Botchford says a deal with Virtanen might not even be enough to get Kane. He believes the Jets are "looking for (Bo) Horvat, an A-prospect (Jared McCann) and a first-round pick - a deal that the Canucks won't make because, "they love Horvat."
If Juice is still around when the Sedins retire, he should be the next captain.
I could see Horvat being a captain in 5 or so years if his development pans out.

Nah, bro, we should make Eddie Lack captain, since having a goaltender as a captain always works out!!!
Watching Lack is funny. He's good, but sometimes if you watch closely, when the play is away or before puck drop, he's glancing as his feet and arms, double checking to make sure he's in textbook ready position. It's like a kid learning how to play goalie.

March 28th. I'm setting a reminder on my iPhone for that home game against Dallas.
-hope that Coach Willie puts Seguin and Benn's comments in the locker room to fire the team up.
Mark my words, if the Sedins don't make Dallas see stars that night, you can rest assured that Kassian will give a hard check on either one of those bums.
Zack may not be the smartest player out there when it comes to picking his spots to throw checks, but he does stick up for his team mates.
Put some Sedinary on those Stars! Get even instead of getting mad.
Dreger reporting that a deal in principle between Sabres and Jets are in the works.
Myers, Joel Armia, Stafford, Brendan Lemieux + their lowest 1st rounder this year for Evander Kane, Bogosian + other consideration (some random unsigned goalie apparently)
As a Sabres fan, not a fan of this trade, not a fan of Kane and his antics. Armia has been developing quite well and is having a good year in the AHL, Myers has been fantastic this year and a lot better than Bogosian. Stafford isn't a big deal, he was going to be gone as a UFA, the NYI or Blues 1st round pick isn't too big a deal since Sabres have like 6 picks in the 1st two rounds this year and the plan was to parlay them into some younger NHL players, which Kane is. Lemieux is an unknown but projected to be a solid spark plug, energy type player.
Apparently Canucks were on the phone with the Jets last night over a deal, Jets called em back this morning to tell em they were accepting a bigger offer.
I'd be surprised if Kane ever hits much more than 30 goals on a terrible Sabres team... nevermind he's what... 23 years old and he's already had a number of surgeries and injuries??? Good job Buffalo, keep being horrible AND spending a lot of money to get there.
The key to this deal is will Kane eventually stop acting like an entitled douchebag and eventually find some chemistry with Reinhart or McDavid/Eichel as his center, no doubting Kane's talent on ice, its 5 cent brain thats the concern.
This does help the Jets this year though getting Stafford and being able to call up Armia as solid top 9 players and Myers on the backend to help push for a playoff spot, not good for the Canucks.
Bogo is a nice piece for the Sabres and a local western NY kid, but I'd still prefer Myers.
Sabres do have too many prospects and draft picks coming up and the plan was to parlay them into some young NHL ready talent. So I guess I'm not liking this as a Sabres fan because of my dislike for Kane and losing Myers.
