Well Winnipeg will now probably draft #1 Connor McDavid who will most likely play there the next 10+ years with RFA status. Meanwhile Kane will be injured playing on a team not of his choice for the next three years at a six million cap hit... Great deal Buffalo... |
Anyone know a potential future top 6 in buffalo if they end up getting Mcdavid too? |
The Sabres still practice? :lawl: |

Kane - McDavid/Eichel - Ennis Grigensons - Reinhart - Grigerenko There is talk of moving Grigensons and/or Grigerenko to wing as both have played there as they have Larsson and Compher coming up as center prospects as well. |
and.... the sabres are done rebuilding ahead of the Oilers |
the Oilers are on a whole nother level of stupid when it comes to approaching rebuilds or building a hockey team for that matter. finally people can shut the hell up about Kane to Vancouver The fact that management seriously pursued him kinda scares me a little bit. |
Am I the only one who thinks Winnipeg somehow managed to lose this trade? Myers and Bogosian basically offset each other, so it was Kane, Kasdorf for Stafford, Armia, Lemieux, and STL/NYI's 1st (late 1st). Stafford is a 2nd/3rd line winger, Armia and Lemieux are okay but not great prospects, and the first will be 20th overall or later. While there are 4 decent pieces there, none of them are anything special like Kane. Equivalent to us trading Higgins, Gaunce, McCann, and our 1st. |
Plus Stafford is UFA. That trade minus Bogo would have been solid. |

I see you are a sabres fan and if I was a sabres fan, I'd be happy with this trade. He's only still 23yo so I'll give him the benefit of a doubt that he'll get his act together and mature up. |
yes...yes you are at the moment. Jets got rid of a troubled player who clearly didn't wanna be there. Armia, Lemieux are too young to judge but are decent prospects. I don't usually believe in the whole "the draft is deep" crap but Jets now have 2 selections in the first round this year. Stafford, meh. You're banking too much on Kane actually having a bounce back season. Guy has yet to prove himself after his antics this year (not to mention his previous ones). Until he can prove he can score 30+ again, Winnipeg won this trade by miles. |
Buffalo can always flip Kane and Bogo down the road too. You never know who wins until the players starts playing. Just look at the hype that went through Coho for Kassian. |
What picks will Buffalo most likely get in 2015. Someone said they have 3 first rounds? |

If Kane gets his act together, Buffalo wins this trade |
I still don't see why people are so high on Kane. Yeah he's from Vancouver. So? He's looked dynamic at times but others he's been uninspired. Yeah, he's young but still unproven. He's scored 30 goals once in his career. Just once. I can't even call him a star. Sure, he's got potential and he's a talented player but all that is garbage if he can't get his shit together and quit acting like a little baby. |

In other news... @HalfordPHT: Per Dallas Stars PR, Jamie Benn reached out to the Sedin brothers regarding his comments on radio earlier this week. |

Regardless, none of them have Kane's potential. Kane has scored an average of 24.8 goals/82 in his career. 30 goals isn't much of a reach in a healthy season. He's been playing through injuries the past 2 years which makes it look like a bigger mountain than it really is. |
Lol Kane didn't even want to play in Buffalo for the WJCs, he must be livid right now |
Lol 5 years of pro hockey is a meaningless stat, 1 game in the NHL, less than 100 in the minors. That's probably a better indicator. I think we can safely classify that as too young to judge. I'd agree on bottom six though but then a large majority of players are projected to be bottom six unless proven otherwise. how are you getting 24.8 goals/82? That sounds like stretch since the guy has only broken the 20 goal barrier once. Yeah, he'll probably get to 30 when he's healthy again but until then he's overhyped and hasn't exactly proven anything imo. Kane has played 361 games in the NHL with 109 goals. By comparison these are the tops in is his draft class: Duchene - 391 GP, 119 G Tavares - 404 GP, 160 G I'll concede he's on a similar pace as the elite players from his draft class and the surrounding years but i still can't see him as a star. Tavares would be a star, Duchene maybe but Kane, not yet. |
