People in this thread doesn't beleive the flames will beat the caunucks in 7 games... can you please break it down for them why the flames will have a chance if not a good chance?

History is on the Canucks' side. -would love to see our team play the Flamers.
I still remember this goal from back in the day. That Jeff Brown stretch pass to Bure for the winning goal in game 7.

^there almost no way the Canucks will face the Blues in the playoffs. the Blues would have to finish first in there division while we would have to slide to 7th. judging on how the blues been playing lately, they ain't catching up to the Predators.

Not likely, but it is the best scenario for the Canucks anyhow.

I was cheering pretty hard for the Hawks to win last night.
In the Pacific...the only team the Canucks can not and will not beat are the Kings. Ducks and Flames are fair game. I don't know why people are so high on the Ducks but imo, you need a Norris calibre D to make it. (or a generational player.)
The Ducks have who on their D again? Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen? These guys are still young and unproven. Despres is still raw and Wisniewski and the rest are old. The last time they won the cup they had Niedermayer and Pronger which is pretty much a better tandem than their d corp combined.
Central's gonna be fun to watch because any one of them are legit contenders, and some of them are gonna be bounced first round. I don't think Nashville's gonna make it, i'd be surprised if they did. I see the Hawks coming out, Blues maybe. Whichever team makes it to the second round is gonna be battered but battle tested. Minny's playing some awesome hockey right now, if they can keep this roll going in the playoffs they could go deep or all the way.
I said way earlier that i'd be happy if the Canucks just make the playoffs and that I don't see them going past the first round (heck, they still need to prove that they can actually make it to the dance) but as long as they're not playing the Kings at some point in the playoffs, they've got a fairly decent shot to go deep.
It bothers me that Cloutier and Auld were somehow the best goaltenders Burke could get us
Could be worse...remember the goalie carousel before Cloutier/Auld?
Potvin, Weekes, Skudra, Essensa (Backup Bob!), Burke, Irbe, Snow, Hirsch
Cloutier was a shit show. After years of different goalies, at the time I thought Auld was going to be a decent starter for years to come.
Eddie reminds me of Cloutier for some reason. He's doesn't dazzle and isn't exactly great but he gets the job done for the most part. I don't think he'll ever be an elite goalie but he'll get the job done. What bothers me the most about Eddie's game is that there are times when he over commits and is too aggressive and leaves one side way open. Sure he's made some clutch saves but he's also let in his fair share of questionable goals at crucial times.

I also feel this way about the Ducks. Plus, when was the last time Boudreau coached a team past the second round of the playoffs?
