Surprised no one mentioned this, but the Flames first goal should never have counted as the puck was knocked down with a high stick earlier in the play. Play should have been whistled down. Since it wasn't, the flames were able to maintain zone pressure which eventually led to the first goal. I was at the game and in our lower bowl section, the atmosphere was loud. The crazy little asian lady in front of me was sitting on the edge of her seat the whole time and kept jumping up and down to wave her towel. Blocked my view quite a bit but I can't ask her to stop being excited for the Canucks can I. PP was weak. A few times both Daniel and Henrik had their backs to the center to protect the puck along the boards. Yes, they do that to protect the puck, but you are on the F-ing powerplay. If they moved the puck faster, then the PP will get more chances. Calgary PK guys are giving Henrik all the room in the world and challenging him to shoot from the right faceoff dot. The OK guys are cheating and blocking the passing lane to Weber and all Henrik can do is stand there trying to decide what to do. Partially, I think game 1 shows WD was out coached by BH. There are certain aspects of Bonino's game that I like, but there are other times where he looks more like a third/fourth line center. Maybe WD needs to mix things up a bit and put Boho with Vrbata on the second line. |
I don't think WD was out coached. 2-1 game. We had our chances but we weren't able to capitalize on it. Flames were able to. I think WD should maybe try switching up Higgins with Dorsett. Put a little hustle and grit on that line and maybe create some chances for Bonino and Vrbata. |
I say bring up Sven and try him out in a top six role. Guys gotta have motivation to stick it to the team that said he wasn't good enough to crack their roster. |
M.A.F. just gave up a goal on NYR first shot of the game, made a few good saves after that though |
Horvat deserves better wingers. |
Damn I shudve picked nyr to sweep. gave the pens the benefit of one game but it looks like they're ready to golf |
Whoever bet on Pittsburgh better hope they pull a horseshoe out of their ass pretty quick. NYR looks way better on every level. |
I picked NY to sweep the Pens in my bracket. Looking good so far. |

They are a shell of their former selves. And Mark Stone..ouch, micro fracture on his wrist. Had some money on him to have more goals than Gallagher..this blows. |

I can go on but basically Willie got his shit in pushed by Hartley. |

Babcock is a genius in choosing Mrazek to be the starting goalie over Jimmy Howard. 44 saves win over Tampa Bay. I'm taking the Wings to beat TB. |
Was wishing Landon Ferraro would score that empty netter Listening to Ray on 1040 talking about his son is pretty awesome |
