Everyone seems to be bipolar. One minute it's like "Yeah we are the top of the world, cup here we come!" and 30 seconds later it's "fuck we are the cesspool we are garbage, trade everyone"
Anyways, I thought Sven played a decent game. They finally decided to give BoHo more ice time which is great. On to game 6!

How pissed would Flames fans be if the Canucks came back from another 3-1 series deficit against them lol. Still a lot of work to do, 1 more and anything can happen in game 7. Quote:

Hnic did make a good point. ferland can't be running around if they keep up the pressure and possession.
Still don't expect em to make it back and win the series...I've been a Canucks fan and I've seen this core long enough. But damn am I ever relieved not to go down in 5

Skill-wise we have the advantage so we just need to put in the effort, which we did today. You can't gain skill overnight. I believe in blue we can do this! |

glad the boys won one for kate upton tonight, but its painful to watch our guys lose battles for loose pucks in an elimination game... maybe its the old man legs, but Calgary looked like they out-hustled us for most of the night

she can saddle my dome any day
i'd Upton all over that Kate
ok i'm done.
That Kane pass was filthy, i can usually pull that off in NHL 14 when i'm playing against 5 year olds or the CPU on beginner but to see it irl is another thing. Good thing i picked the Hawks in 6 lol.
Hoping the Rangers advance tonight and the Sens take it to seven somehow.

Over the past few months, there has been lots of talk about the Canucks forwards and needing an injection of youth, but watching yesterday's game makes me cringe at the thought of our D.
I like Tanev's play as a top 4 D guy.
Weber is a solid 3rd pairing D guy and the right handed point shot on the PP.
Edler looks like shit as a top 4 D man. He makes far too many mistakes with the puck and rarely uses his cannon. Of course that is a function of the Canucks play makers playing on the right side of the rink.
Hamhuis can still play top 4 D minutes, but eventually, he will be on the decline.
Bieksa is no longer the same guy we remember him as from 2011. He is into his decline and is a 3rd pair D man at best. He no longer hits, and is slow with the puck. Defensively, he makes some awful mistakes and being paired with Sbisa is very scary.
Sbisa has some potential upside, but much like Edler, has many brain farts. He needs to learn the read the play better. Edler 2.0?
I hope Corrado makes the team next year. I do hope that WD isn't too in love with the current D guys and "injects" some youth into the D.
One thing I did notice about last night is that Hartly was basically playing 4 D guys and rolling 3 forward lines. While I understand WD's thought process, but much like beer league hockey. When you roll all your forward lines, it means the weaker guys hit the ice more and the skilled guys get less icetime. In the case of the Canucks, that means Bieska and Sbisa are on the ice more.
That is fine if you have a big lead, but when the game is on the line and you only have a 1 goal lead, that is playing it very dangerously.

I don't want to see Bieksa back next season. He brings leadership to the table but that's about it.
We're stuck with Sbisa for at least one more season, I don't see Edler going anywhere. Weber is probably gonna walk for a bigger offer but meh, i think he's a flash in the pan and is shit defensively. Not worth overpaying for.
Hamhuis probably has one good year left in him, but if an offer to get younger/move up the draft comes, I think the Canucks will take a long, hard look and consider trading him.
I'm excited to see Hutton, there's some hype around him and he's looked decent in Utica so far. Already has the NHL size at 6'3 200 and has some offensive potential.
But really next season, Corrado has to make it. Clendening is getting to that point where is he or is he not an NHL-calibre player. There's some pressure on him to make it out of training camp.
