I'd do it.

Don't really need to throw Hansen in there but that's a pretty decent deal.

I can't wait to see what kind of deal PK Subban gets. It should be absolutely huge, especially if they name him captain.

RFA just means the team has a little more leverage because the player can't just go sign elsewhere. Their team has the right to match. It gives the team that drafted them (or traded for them) an advantage to keeping them.

:lawl:

Didn't realize Vrbata wears #17 as well.
Suspiciously too convenient...

Sounds like Zack Kassian is very close to signing a 2-year contract extension with the #canucks. Tanev, Vey + Weber remaining RFAs.
I thought they never qualified for Weber??

trancehead 07-03-2014 05:09 PM

lol i highly doubt PK gets named Captain. but yes he should command a astronomical sum

Hondaracer 07-03-2014 05:18 PM

PK will get over 8 if the term is under 5

I feel the same way about Garrison, wasn't utilized properly by Torts and now getting shipped off for scraps. :(
Higgins was also one of the lone bright spots in a shitty season. I would be sad to see him go. Same as Hansen. Unless we something awesome back.

The Kane deal looks sweet, for us lol.

Tim Budong 07-03-2014 05:41 PM

PK Subban is what the NHL needs to grow its game even further

He got the Charisma to do it
Habs has the money to feed him forever.

I'd say he will command max term, however, he'd probably get 9+ per year

trancehead 07-03-2014 06:03 PM

yup charisma
his playing style is brings ppl out of their seats
and he can be polarizing...because everyone loves some controversy

and hes black. if the nhl can capture more the the american black market, theyre golden

Tim Budong 07-03-2014 06:13 PM

You have to believe that PK's endorsement deals after all the exposure on national TV will put him with one of the highest paid athletes in the NHL outside of his contract

trancehead 07-03-2014 06:17 PM

he should have his own line of clothing too

Ludepower 07-03-2014 06:26 PM

PK is deserving of 8.5 mill. But that sets a poor precedent amongst teammates.
7.5 mill on a long term contract would be giving the hometown discount.

Maybe if Evander Kane thug it out and goes to Chicago or Detroit

I'm glad we didn't overpay for Kassian.
Win-win contract. Cap hit is low and he gets 2 years to prove he belongs in the top 6.

Tim Budong 07-03-2014 07:34 PM

Kassian skill set

I believe it was Suave and Dalpe we didn't qualify.

There's only 1 team the Jannik Hansen will wave is no trade. And that's Winnipeg. He met his wife there and Winnipeg is Jannik's summer place.

If Benning feels we can't fit Jannik in, might aswell try to get Kane and flip Kane if he doesn't pan out.

411ken 07-03-2014 08:39 PM

I love that deal for Kassian.. I thought he was coming into his own the 2nd half of the season.. I can see him dropping 50pts or so next season as long as he is given the opportunity.. I still wish he would use #54 tho hahaa :P

Jmac 07-03-2014 08:40 PM

Weber is a decent #7 dman, especially since he can play wing as well.
