I'm ok with that selection.
Curious to see how long this "multi-year" deal is considering what happened to the last coach who signed a "multi-year" deal here.
I'm assuming 2-3 years, anything more than 3 would be retarded imo.

Aw yeah, It's gonna be Willie style in terms of the way our team plays this upcoming season.
-heard good things about Desjardins in terms of how he works well with both veterans and young players.
So far so good for President Linden with hiring Benning and Desjardins.

I heard Pittsburg offered him 2 and that was one of the reasons he didn't take the deal since he wants a longer term then that.

Hiring Desjardins was a no brainer. Even Gillis could've done that. Still too early to tell anything

Too much of a gamble to hire a coach who never HC in NHL before.
Could turn disastrous like Eakins in Deadmonton or work out like Cooper in TB
BUT....
When you have a clear front runner and perennial favorite and Veteran coach like Byslma I don't see how you choose someone else over him. His coaching style would have suited a uptempo run and gun style which Canucks want and his coaching credentials speak for itself. The guy won a Stanley Cup and stayed competitive with Marc Andre Fleury for crying out loud.

true, but he also couldn't get his top players to put up points in the playoffs.

Curious to see how much better the Canucks' offer is compared to Pittsburgh's. It would have to be much, much better to choose a rebuilding, aging team with the worst travel schedule in the NHL compared to what the Pens offer a coach as a whole IMO..

I hope they get rid glen gulutzan. Our pp was so bad with him running it. Like lidster since he played here as familiar with Trevor. Maybe lure guy Boucher as the other assistant.
