Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

So the Canucks media relations people invited me down to Rogers yesterday to try their new food...and I have to say, they're not messing around. The new stuff is...well, it's not just good for arena food, it's very good for anywhere! The prime rib sandwich I had was just insanely good and so was the lobster roll.
And you have Jay Jones, who used to head up the Donnelly Group's bartenders mixing drinks there now. AND a new selection of beers.

Was this for the new sports bar that is opening up at the Rogers Arena complex or just the new lounge/food menu for inside the arena? Can't wait for the new sports bar to open, supposed to be similar to Real Sports in Toronto.

Both.
Yeah, I wasn't there as Vancity Buzz. Some other VCB guys were there. I'll have a full look at the new food on my blog soon.
Is this food available to general admission or only special parts (i.e. River Rock section).
I went to a few games back in 2011 in the River Rock session and the food was always great. Prime rib was delicious and I didn't have to leave my seat to get it. Too bad it's a no cheer zone (except for goals). Got some glares for heckling Jokinen in the box from the suits who were trying to have Blackberry convos ...
So now if I go to a Canucks game, not only do I have to spend $100 for a ticket, I also have to spend $10+ for a craft beer and probably $15-$20 for some food?
Linden was on Team 1040 a few weeks back and was asked the question of how much more expensive the food and beer is going to be after the revamp, and he talked to someone off mic and they said the prices would be pretty much the same.

From what I saw, the prices are staying roughly the same. Talked to de Bonis and he said that one of the primary goals was not to raise the prices of the food, just the quality.
From what I saw, the prices weren't unreasonable. You're already paying $8 for a Japadog or $10 at Meat and Bread. Its on par with the White Spot prices (which they are keeping BTW). I can't tell you if they'll be as good on game day but the food was actually very very good.
The food is available general admission but there's also a new restaurant upstairs...a fine dining thing during the game. I don't really get it. I've emailed them to ask for more details.
Beer will probably continue to be expensive but at least they're putting in some effort to get interesting beers. They've also replaced all the beer lines in the arena and have a whole new refridgeration system. The new kitchens were on par with the ones I've seen in the citys best hotels.
if youre going to a nucks game with a budget in mind you're probably going to be disapointed either way.
i dont see a new beer list any where but see people in the comments of some of the stories already bitching that its just shitty mainstream stuff again?
