Southsiders got told to sit down for a reason, its not a standing area. They were blocking people who had paid to sit, and watch the game. If there was a standing room area only, it would be great to have them there.
Arrests have been made in connection with the 2011 death of NHL forward Derek Boogaard.
The Manhattan U.S. Attorney's office announced Tuesday that Jordan Hart, the son of former New York Islander Gerry Hart, was arrested on Long Island on Tuesday morning by the Drug Enforcement Administration's New York task force while physician's assistant Oscar Johnson was arrested in Utah.
According to the office's release, Hart supplied Boogaard with prescription pain killers that killed him, while Johnson is accused of writing bogus Percocet prescriptions for Hart on a near-monthly basis over two years.
"As alleged, for more than two years, Oscar Johnson casually provided Percocet prescriptions to a former minor league hockey player without once treating or examining that player during that period," said Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara in the release.
"The minor league player, Jordan Hart, then filled those prescriptions and sold the corresponding drugs to Derek Boogaard, an NHL player, feeding Boogaard's growing, debilitating addiction. Ultimately, that addiction, fueled at least in part by the drugs that Johnson illegally prescribed, and Hart peddled for cash, culminated in Boogaard's tragic overdose death. We have seen far too many tragedies from prescription drug overdoses. This Office will continue to warn people of the dangers of prescription drug abuse and investigate and prosecute those who illegally deal in pain medications wherever we find them. And finally, the sports world is not exempt from federal narcotics law and should not expect to be."
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
Boogaard was found dead in his apartment in Minneapolis on May 13, 2011 of drug and alcohol overdose, five months after he sustained a season-ending concussion with the New York Rangers.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced the following week that his cause of death was an accident due to a mix of alcohol and the pain killer oxycodone.

I'm still surprised that the "long" waiting list for season tickets disappeared as a result of last season's debacle.

maybe if they infused the current lineup with more youth instead of the stale mid thirty somethings that will be next season.
anyone know what's the deal with rogers center ice?
apparently it's free til dec 31st, 2014 if you're a rogers customer
anyone signed up yet?
I thought about that too, but maybe they came from an area that is still under construction.

The unfortunate thing is that during real events, the food is not going to look like that.
Edit: Hopefully the quality is maintained though.

Well this sucks, HBO has walked away from their partnership with the NHL to make the 24/7 series. TSN tried a similar series with the Oilers, but that was just beyond horrible with just brutal production value, editing, filming, etc... HBO does these sports series the best with NFL's Hard Knocks and 24/7 for Boxing.
