Why shouldn't it work now?

Please trade me away, but only to the 1 team that I want to play for because my NTC in my legally binding contract says I can do that. Quote:

It gives the player some or full control, and the player offers to take a bit less money in return. It's a totally fair process with that in mind.
As an example, what happened to Garrison over the summer was douchey. A different GM yes, but a contract is still a contract. He had the NTC, he had no reason to want to leave the team, the team didn't want him any more and asked him to waive it. He handled it with class, why would any player want to play for a team that didn't want him any more. He could have made a huge deal about it, but he didn't.
But if the player asks/begs to get out of the team he signed the big contract with then pulls the NTC card, I have no problems calling the player out for that.

I don't blame players for playing their hands to best of their interest if it's within the rule book.
People shit on players they like for leaving for selling out, for having no loyalty to t the fan base. But does anyone bay an eye for shitty players when they get traded like tokens or waived?
Let's use lebrons 'decision' as an example, owner calling him out and fans trashing him for being a traitor. but did
Now did anyone complain or accuse the cav of being heartless and cruel to the players that were traded or waived for the purpose of clearing cap space in order to sign lebron and Kevin love?
Sure it sucks for the fans when one of your better players decide to leave the team you are cheering for, but chances are the fans are the first one to arm chair gm which players are trash and which players to trade of waive in an blink of an eye

But does anyone bay an eye for shitty players when they get traded like tokens or waived? | Yeah it always goes both ways. Players for the most part seem to understand the sport is a business at the end of the day. Most seem to understand they are pretty lucky to be paid very well for playing a game at the end of the day, even the crappy players. That's a problem with a revenue based salary cap; the star players will always get their money, no question about it. But it's the fringe players and low end plugs that lose out in order to be afford these huge contracts.
When a GM asks a player to waive the NTC, there's no rule saying the player has to say sure, I'll do whatever you ask. But really, what player wants to play on a team that doesn't want them any more? Technically within the 'rule book', they are contractually bound to play for the team that gave them that contract until the contract expires. So really, pouting and asking to be traded because the team sucks or you want to win, isn't really within the rules; at least no more so than a GM asking you to waive your NTC.

Horvat and Corrado makes the team.
Sucks for Jensen. Just no room for him on the right. Vrbata/Kassian/Hansen/Dorsett. I think it's better to have the kids play in the AHL and play big minutes. Shinkaruk / Reilly / Jensen going to be the top line in Utica.
We did get some youth on the team. Aside from Horvat and Corrado, we have Vey as well.

Cause no matter what happens Horvat can't play in the AHL cause of his age. Either he sticks with the Canucks, gets sent back to London or plays in Europe like Jensen did a few years back.

he can go to the ahl on a conditioning stint, but its not like they can store him in the ahl for the year because of the stint. 14 days max. What Exactly is a Conditioning Assignment, Anyway? - On the Forecheck

Through the playstore/app store http://www.gamecentrelive.rogers.com/
When you give your rogers account info there will be a link to both stores once it goes live.
