Ferrari on two wheels? Ducati vs MV Agusta
 

Ducati and MV Agusta are often referred as "Ferrari on two wheels" but which one do you think is more closer to Ferrari? :confused:

For a short time, our racing motorcycles and a 98cc road version (called "Cavallino" in Europe and "Bronco" in the U.S.) sported on their side panels a horse identical to that of the Ferrari emblem. For those fond of old stories about Ducati, the symbol helped identify our motorcycles as "Ferraris on two wheels."

MV Agusta
"The engine was derived from the 1990–1992 Ferrari Formula One engine. Early in the design process Ferrari engineers assisted in the development of the engine. MV (Cagiva at the time) quickly deviated from the Ferrari design, but they kept one important feature, the radial valves. The F4 engine is unique in the sense that it is the only radial valved motorcycle engine currently in production."

the mv augusta is rarer than the ducati so therefore the ducati is like the ferrari... in other words... ferrari's just arent that rare anymore... just gotta know where to look for them. any augusta would be my dream bike... but unfortunately i cant afford one so ill stick with my hypermotard... after all it is the ferrari of bikes.

I've owned a Ducati myself so I'll chime in.

The Ducati is one of a kind. In sound and design. It's a torque monster and drinks gas like no other.

Only flaw is that the electronics should be designed by the Japanese.

I think if Ferrari made a motorcycle, it would look more like Ducati.
But I don't know about L Twin engine. I think Ferrari would build something high-pitched F1 sound...instead of rumbling sound like Ducati.

Or is the Ferrari a 4-wheeled Ducati?

I love my brother's Ducati 1198 but the MV Agusta is more rare to see
