Wow Contrux! I used to watch Star Trek TNG (orginal airing) and build my own versions of phasers and phaser rifles out of Construx.

It's kinda funny how car trends can go from "cool" to "rice" in the span of a decade or so...

Who else collected these at Dairy Queen? I'm pretty sure we had them all.. we used them as boats for our GI Joes

Definitely "rice" these days. But for the time, that was probably one of the most spot-on ads that a manufacturer could have made.

What do mean "these days"??? It was ALWAYS "rice". Since forever. :-)

And I'm not sure it was ever "cool", except to (some of) us car fanatics (and to their hangers on).

PS. I riced out cars in the 80's. :-/

And I fondly remembered that commercial. It came on lots during HNIC.

Not my favourite system but the first party titles were :fullofwin:

Side note:

When Napster was the program to use, I ended up adding this song to my very first CD burn mix

Dat bass

Sounded great on my 2 x 10" subs with Kenwood hideaway deck, Alpine Amp & Speakers as I roamed random suburbs. While others preferred blasting ATB or D.R.E, I went straight for WTF. The looks on people's faces could not be duplicated
