Ummm have clubs not always been able to save spots at NO CHARGE?

The guy I'm communicating with at Blitzgear worded it like it was optional PER CLUB and not required PER PERSON

I talked to Jordan at Blitzgear and same thing, it was communicated to me as $15 per club (or so I thought), I even remember thinking it was weird given, like why not make it 20 bucks to an even $20 bill. lol.

I was asking members of our group to donate $10 each. Which considering there is 15-20 of us, really starts to add up. Not gonna complain though its a worthy cause, and $5 more really isn't much considering how much this event provides us for free.

I mean hell, I just paid $50 to park inside importfest last week.

EDIT:

The process to sign up is a little ridiculous, I mean 15 tickets comes out to $245, and then I have to spend like 30 minutes providing emails and names for every person. Can't I just paypal blitz 200 bucks and rope me off 15 spots?

mb_ 08-11-2014 05:31 PM

From his e-mails, I was under the assumption that the $15 for RCMP Cops for Cancer was OPTIONAL per club so I said why the hell not, it's for a good cause and it's not that much. I didn't force the rest of the members
to cough up $15 but did mention that there was a donation for charity type of thing. I showed my friend who's organizing on behalf of BCMR2 with me and she understood it the same way as I did.

Not too sure how the rest of BCMR2 will react and unlike you, I'm not financially able to cover 25 spots for the rest of our group.

Seriously? You have to provide names and emails for each person? We just e-mailed in and snagged 25. Im going to be a little upset if we show up and none of us get to park together because I didn't do an individual sign up for each of our members. It should be easier for people if they're organizing it for a larger group.

Blitzgear 08-11-2014 07:19 PM

Hey Everyone - I thought i'd chime in and try to explain things in more detail. We are trying something new this year to help out a good cause and give back to the RCMP, who have always supported our meets in the past.

We appreciate the patience and we'll do our best to make this new idea work for the entire RS community!

To start the reserved spots are OPTIONAL. There are 3 types of spots this year:

1) General - The usual, first come, first serve
2) Clubs - Clubs who coordinate with Blitzgear/RS directly
3) Reserved - Those that want to come later in the day, get a better spot and also want to help out a charity and RS Community.

The cost is $15 for a reserved spot. Reserved spots will get the following:
1) Reserved Spot entrance
2) Late arrival (Spot will be held until 10:45am)
3) Prime Space by the vendors and booths
4) Donation to a great cause (Cops for Cancer)
5) Our Thanks for supporting RS

If you reserve a spot you can still park with your club. We will just place your reserved parking space where the clubs are supposed to be. That spot will be yours for the rest of the meet.

Meme405 - If the entire club would like to make a donation as a group we would be happy to reserve spots at a group rate. For the registration we do need to have the information, but if you'd like to send us a list directly we will enter the information.

Mb_ - This is optional. It's a great cause and the RCMP team that we are supporting, has always supported RS. They will also be there with their team uniforms talking with everyone and thanking everyone that is supporting.

Ms.Aw11 - We only need emails for those that want to reserve the spot. Like previous meets clubs are always welcome, but once the meet starts any spots that are not filled will be open to the general public.

Sorry for the long post. I'll be updating the post on the RS homepage as well. Feel free to ask us question here, PM or via email.

-Wil

Blitzgear 08-11-2014 07:23 PM

To all the club organizers:

If you have any issues with trying to gather the donation/fees for the reservation or have concerns about registrations please PM or email us.

We don't want to make more work for you and appreciate all the work you put in to bring out all the members from each one of your clubs.

**EDIT**

Clubs will still have a dedicated area to park together, however like all meets if people do not show up and the meet starts then the spots will be available to everyone. The reservations will hold spots for late arrivals (10:45am) and those who like to sleep in....hahaha

Ms.Aw11 08-11-2014 07:25 PM

Thanks so much, that definitely clears it up. I'll relay the information to our group.

mb_ 08-11-2014 07:42 PM

Thanks for clarifying everything for us and answering in a timely manner :) One important question; are clubs assigned roll in times or do we just show up whenever convenient?

Btw, your PM is not enabled lol!

From speaking with Wil earlier my understanding on this is [please correct me if I'm wrong], if you're donating to reserve a spot then you'll have your own entrance and as long as you show up by 1045 you can come whenever.

If you're registering as a car club without donating it will be the same thing as last year, designated times to arrive earlier but once 10 am hits then anyone can take any free spots within your area.

Essentially the only thing changing is for a fee to charity, we're guaranteeing you a spot so you don't have to wake up early; theoretically you could sleep til 10 am and still have a prime spot for the duration of the meet

Blitzgear 08-11-2014 09:16 PM

Thanks saucywoman for summarizing my longwinded post...lol

mb_ - clubs will be given roll in times. it will help minimize the chaos and keep people organized. You should get an email from Jordan regarding the exact times.

I'm glad that the last few posts have cleared things up.

...and my PMs should be enabled now. Thanks mb_ !!!!

Can't shoot that day...:okay:

I have family in town, and gonna be heading out of town the week immediately following the meet. So disappointed.

I will still be taking pictures, and I am looking forward to what others come up with. I hope the $100 from Jace inspires some creative stuff.

@Jace if you need a hand picking a winner, LMK.

Tchleung 08-12-2014 04:51 PM

So if we show up at say 9:30 as a general parking and not reserved etc, we have to wait until 10 before we can roll in?

XplicitLuder 08-12-2014 05:29 PM

from what i understand no you wont have to wait, but youll end up parking in places that arent for clubs or reserved. Youll park in those spots that are for the "first come first serve"

Blitzgear 08-12-2014 05:31 PM

G2Teggin - if you come at 930 you will be able to roll in just like normal and then parking will be based on whatever is available. You will just line up to get in through the main entrance.

If you reserve, then you will have your spot saved and can come basically anytime before 10:45 and still get a good spot for the meet.

Tchleung 08-12-2014 06:31 PM

Okay thanks! Was just curious.

Update

If you don't have a "group" to roll in with, you can certainly take advantage of our "Reserved Spot" opportunity. Individuals wishing to register and donate $15 to Cops For Cancer please contact either myself or BlitzGear and we will accommodate you in the "Reserved" Section. You still get all the same benefits :)
Awesome opportunity for those individuals who don't want to get up early to line up either ;) I wish I could sleep in lol
