BMW x7 2016?

BMW X7
When: 2016 (2017 model year)
Bmw X7 Sneak Preview Front Three Quarter
BMW Group chairman Norbert Reithofer recently confirmed the X7, the next step in the march of BMW off-roaders, which already includes the X1, X3, X4, X5, and X6. Like the latter four, the X7 will be built in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Three rows of seats are a given for the biggest-ever BMW, which will feature six-cylinder or V-8 power. We expect a 400-hp, 3.0-liter 45i and a 500-hp, 4.0-liter 55i. On the diesel front, the straight six acquires a fourth turbocharger to generate about 400 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Cylinder deactivation and a nine-speed automatic help the driveline eke out the best possible fuel economy. One wonders, though: Can an X7 M be far behind?

Looks pretty good imo but 4th turbo? better get it with extended warranty

InB4 they make a sloped roof variation of this and call it an X8.

New Z5/Z7 looks promising...

And the BMW/Toyota joint sports car might produce a great car.

x7 looks like 2014 Acura MDX and Audi Q7, too generic in my opinion, its not extravagant or have a spontaneous design. Blends in with all other competing SUVs

the old x5 was available as a 7 seater i believe, with cramped fold up 3rd row seats similar to the mercedes ML

This truck doesn't make sense to me though -- if you want a large 7-8 passenger SUV you'll be looking at domestics, Lexus lx570, Infiniti qx80, or Mercedes GL -- all of which are big with a large towing capacity, 2 of which are based off truck frames. BMW doesn't have a full-size SUV, so it would have made sense (to me, anyways) to fill that void

i'm sure it'll still sell though, BMW keeps coming out with new models and people are racing to snatch them up

Overly complicated cars that will end up selling for under 10k in 10 years due to maintenance costs?

This honestly makes sense to me... all BMW has to offer for families is the X5, The X5 7 seater is meant to seat small children in the 3rd row.

interesting fact of the day!

the C pillar window design is a hallmark of BMW (not unique to it though, but one of the more consistent car brands to feature it) known as a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hofmeister_kink
