Hey guys I'm looking for a good body shop in north van for some repairs.
I was given these by the insurance place:
-Craftsman collision on west 1st
-Vickery Collision
-Carter Chevy - I don't know why they gave me a chevy dealer to repair a toyota...lol

^ Years ago I was in an accident in my first car, a 1981 granny-driven Mustang. I was broadsided, the whole left side of the car was caved in; shocked it wasn't written off.
I took it to Vickery Collision; The left side of the car was immaculate. Can't say enough about the work they did. Really high quality.

Really high quality. | Excellent, I had to make a decision quick, as the car might be totalled so insurance wanted it looked at quickly so they can make a decision. So I read some reviews and Vickery seemed best, so I sent it there.
Thanks for reinforcing that decision. Quote:

Either way you are right, it 100% doesn't matter, just found it funny.

On another note, I hope the fucking thing isn't totalled from a rear ender, only had 123k on it, and I have had that car since it was new.

Or non oem I'm sure everybody uses the same companies anyways (APT, Cross Canada, Keystone Elko)
Not like they're gonna try to throw a GM fascia bumper onto your Toyota

Not like they're gonna try to throw a GM fascia bumper onto your Toyota | Are you attempting to mis-read everything I type as if I am retarded. Obviously I am well aware that they aren't going to put an impala bumper on my camry you dickhead.
I meant toyota likely has the parts in stock, or access to them within their inventory, whereas chevy would have to go to said toyota dealer, and purchase the piece from them and then put it on my car. Same goes for a body shop.
The reason anyone uses a dealership parts department is readily available parts.

Why would you go to a collision place just because your insurance agent recommended it to you? It is just like going with a home inspector recommended by your real estate agent... I like False Creek, #1 and Tom's. The people that work at False Creek are on BCBimmers if you want to ask them for advice.
I find the quality of finish depends in the end of the staff of the place. Some people are less detail oriented and that shows in the final product. The problem as I understand is collision repair is an industry with a high turn over (since pay is not the greatest and the work is borderline chronically hazardous).

Also they stated they would take it to any body shop I wanted on the north shore, if I wanted it taken farther I would have to pay for the extra towing myself.
I just told them to take it to Vickery. I figure all bodyshops are going to have horror stories from some people and praise from others
BTW I have private insurance through a different company, so I deal with them not ICBC. So the process is a little different for me then it is for people with just basic coverage with ICBC.
