ALERT! Wreckless Driver Sighted in Richmond

To All Revscene members that live in Richmond:

On Friday night (July 25th) @ ~9pm, I was driving my family car (civic sedan) with my wife and two kids (1 toddler and 1 new born infant).

We just turned right from Hollybridge way onto Elmbridge Way (heading west bound) when we suddenly heard a loud exhaust/engine sound coming from the West end / bend of Elmbridge way. At around the same moment we saw a car plough from its own lane into my lane (ie: oncoming traffic lane). For those that aren't aware, Elmbridge way is wide enough for 4 lanes of traffic but only hosts 2 lanes (one west bound, the other east bound).

At this point my car had come to a stop as myself and my wife could not believe what we were seeing. Excessive speeding would be an extreme understatement for the oncoming vehicle. The speed at which the car carried indicated that it was not intending to slow down while exiting the bend.

At first I thought the car would correct itself and get back into its own lane but it did NOT. Like a movie, the car suddenly started to fish tail. The driver
decided it was better to counter steer the car instead of hitting the brakes. The driver continued to counter steer 5 times (left right left right, etc.).

Once the car got within a nearing distance to our family car, I realized I had to take action or otherwise risk a head on collision with a fish tailing vehicle coming in at high speeds. Almost like a video game, I had to time the fish tailing vehicle and then quickly dodge right with our family car into a side parking lot of a business unit on Elmbridge way.

Once I regained my nerves, realized I needed to capture the license plate of that vehicle and report it to the police immediately. I pulled back out onto Elmbridge way and saw the vehicle turning into an alleyway (ie: ORA buiding complex parkade alleyway). I believe the driver managed to regain control from fish tailing, most likely due to the amount of speed scrubbed off while fish tailing prior. I followed the vehicle into the alley and my wife managed to capture a picture of the vehicle and license plate.

I am quite sure that if we did collide my infant new born child would surely die.

I have been informed by a few friends that the car is usually spotted in and around the Oval area and often frequents Revscene meets. Please ensure you all pay attention to this vehicle as it is possible the driver of the vehicle may attempt to 'practice' top speed cornering again.

The vehicle is a mint green (vinyl wrapped) Audi. From the picture it appears to be an RS4 model sedan.

License plate: 778 TXR

From what I could see while the driver waited for the parkade door to open, the driver is asian and most likely male.

The police have already been notified and I was assured the case would be followed up.

To the reckless and irresponsible driver of the Audi:

I am not impressed by your 'mad' driving skills. I can see that you have a need for speed. I surmise that if you continue in your ways unchanged from our near death collision, that you will eventually end up much worse and will not be as lucky every time you screw up driving at high speeds in the city. As a fellow car enthusiast I encourage you to take your need for speed or vehicle top speed testing to the track. Take some lessons while you are at it. Once you do, you will wonder why you even bothered doing this on the streets to begin with.

To the friends/acquaintances of the Audi:

Please take it on as your responsibility to educate your fellow friend that such behaviour on the streets is pure insanity. Lives are at risk. If you continue to allow your friend to drive as such, you may eventually end up riding in his vehicle while he attempts another life threatening attempt at proving his ego.

Images of said vehicle are attached along with diagram illustrating the incident:

"Police followup" at most is a letter in the mail.

If you want things done, next time invest in a dashcam.

DC5-S 07-27-2014 11:38 PM

this guy needs a good beating.

Marshall Placid 07-27-2014 11:46 PM

Thanks for the heads up.

I've seen that Audi driven around Richmond, but only recently, so it could be that the car was recently wrapped in that colour.

It's debadged, so might be a modded [exhaust] B8 A4 or like oinkoinkpig said, a B8 S4 debadged.

With the exhaust note you described as having heard it from faraway, his exhaust system is definitely modified.

A combination of the ESP being turned off and/or high speed and/or reckless driving contributed to the fish tailing.

He was probably trying to test out his car's limits based on what you described.

Glad to hear that you avoided the car.

i have also seen this vehicle driving well over the speed limit within richmond and weaving in and out of traffic. glad you were able to safely assess the situation and keep your family out of danger

twitchyzero 07-28-2014 12:55 AM

as i was reading your description of the car driving into the oncoming lane I was thinking maybe the driver had a heart attack/stroke......or maybe there's was an emergency...or maybe a sticky pedal  then I read about the parkade part :rukidding:

i trust the RS detectives to pull up his facebook account before page 2 of this thread

As soon as I see the Tiffany green wrap job I automatically believe the op story without reading further. As a Richmond resident I hate driving there you never know when your life is in danger!!!

If you have the plates and reported it.. What happened after?

Most people are on defense mode in Richmond regardless.

bananana 07-28-2014 08:04 AM

This asshole. He lives somewhere near Blundell/ Garden City area. Seen him before doing some pretty similar shit.

6o4__boi 07-28-2014 09:37 AM

shit like this makes me so angry...if I ever caught this shit on my dashcam i would pursue every avenue to get this fucktard off the road.

dipshits like these need to crash into a wall and just die in a fiery explosion involving only their piece of shit selves.

westopher 07-28-2014 10:06 AM

ALERT! Wreckless driver in richmond, every 30 seconds on every street. Glad you didn't get hit, and hopefully the driver wraps his car around a pole before he hits another car. Its rare that people learn until something ACTUALLY happens.

What a fucking retard. I've seen this car in Richmond before. OP: Glad you didn't get hit. Sounds like the driver needs to get hit. I would not have been as calm as you and absolutely would have followed him into the parkade.

I'm so glad I moved outta Richmond. I feel my stress level rising every morning I go through the tunnel north bound for work but breathe a sigh of relief when I come out the other side south bound after work. lol!

Derek_N84 07-28-2014 01:14 PM

I've seen this Audi before too, he comes through my work complex here and there. I can deliver a message to him if you like :D

LP700-4 07-28-2014 02:07 PM

How exactly does a AWD Quattro S4 drift? :suspicious:

the_witness 07-28-2014 02:27 PM

Thanks for the comments guys. I would recommend fellow RS members to call the Richmond RCMP non emergency number if they see the same car endangering other folks.

Non-Emergency Phone: 604-278-1212

I believe the stronger the case file we can build up on the driver of the vehicle the more it will help the police in enforcing the law.

Make sure you quote his license plate: 778 TXR

maybe its just a fwd a4 made to look like an s4 and since its so hard to drift with a fwd he was trying a lot hence all the turns in the given diagram

but if he was driving really fast that would explain it too no? high speed in awd to break traction?
