Best resort to stay at in Cancun Im headed to cancun with my girl friend in November for my birthday for a week and she gonna head back home and a few of my friends will meet me down there I was wondering where is a good place to stay that "chill" its gonna be my first time out in Cancun don't no what really to expect. If i could ask fellow members what there experiences are and where they stay that would be great ! |
I got married south of Cancun, here: Grand Palladium Kantenah resort and spa. Palladium hotels and resorts, hotels in Riviera Maya. Great spot! Be sure to check out Xel Ha: Xel-Há Park | Cancun activities Chichén Itzá: Chichen Itza And go swimming in some cenotes! http://janetctkc.files.wordpress.com...11/cenote1.png |
Xel-Ha is awesome. Spotted a huge barracuda in the water when I was there. Xplor is pretty fun too. It's a huge zip line park. |
Xplor is dirty as fuck. Where do they get their water? :suspicious: Coco Bongo VIP. The resorts seem to be the same. Forget shopping because it's very weak. Just drink and eat all day. Enjoy the beach and pool. |
watch out for ladie boys outside of clubs, they'll try to get you when youre drunk. and theres this great club open one day a week there, i think its call the city? |
The City and Coco Bongo are a must clubs u gotta go to |
+1 for the Grand Palladium properties. They're 4 resorts in 1 so if you don't want to spend a whole lot, go to the cheaper properties and you can still take part in everything. When there, I recommend doing the Segway tour of the resort on the first or second day if possible, I can put you in touch with a guy if you'd like. I didn't realize the salt water pool, cenotes or a couple other things until the day before we left :( |
Currently in Iberostar Paraiso Grand Hotel 5 star service and food. Quiet relaxing hotel. |
anybody here been to NOW Sapphire? I'll be having my wedding there in a few months time. |
I've been to the Crown Paradise Club a couple times, loved it both times. Has a cool wrap around design for the rooms so there are a TON of ocean view rooms. Has wicked food and beach, 3 pools to lounge around and drink like a fish, and not a ton of sales people trying to sell you shit...no I don't want your god damn time share thank you very much. http://199.189.105.230/~crownarr/upl...n-paradise.jpg And I agree with everyone here who's said Xel-ha is a must, because it is, unreal time there. |
Anyone have recommendations for more of a party resort with a younger crowd? |
Bump Going to cancun in June for a stag and looking for recommendations on a place to stay. Thanks |

Massive pool that stretches the length of the whole resort; far end by the beach had pool parties almost everyday. Also, there were event staff on the resort during the pool parties who would tell you about the clubbing events at night. Buy a $50 ticket (we usually got it down to around $40), meet them in the lobby at around 10:30..ticket covers ride to the club, cover, bottle service, and open bar. Different club every night; few that I remember are The City, DaddyO's, and Coco Bongo. Not all reviews were great but all the negative feedback seemed to be from an older/ family crowd. Would definitely recommend it for a younger crowd. Plan on going back soon myself. |
Plaza 21 |
I stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe and found it great, that was 10 years ago |

Doesn't seem that great from the reviews. |

CoCo Bongo's and The City for sure.....do as the guy mentioned, go with the guide from the hotel for like $50....get's you through the VIP line, cover and drinks to start.....once you see the lineups outside you'll understand why you want to just pay to get in |
I'm a fan of that hotel because its really central to everything. Close to Cancun and super close to Tulum, Xel Ha and Playa Del Carmen as well. If you are a fan of snorkeling bring your own gear and you can snorkel right off the beach of the hotel and its some of the best I have found. I was with the gf back in the day and we were snorkeling and a massive sting ray came right past us, I was scared to be honest but it was so peaceful and beautiful it put me in awe. |

I'm trying to plan a stag for march or april 2016. |
Ended up staying at the Gran Caribe. It wasn't that great, food was mediocre, the pool was pretty small and most the other people there seem liked locals, but that may also be cause of the time of the year? |
