$749, more pricey than I expected for a nexus device. Although it is a 6"
I'd prefer a 10" tablet and a 5" phone, they went the wrong way on both devices

The Nexus 6 marks the end of “subsidized” Nexus phones sold directly from Google.
Too bad, that's kind of a deal breaker. Other than not having bloatware, the price point was what made the Nexus line appealing. $749's no longer "toy" territory for me. I'll be keeping my N5 thank you very much.
The Nexus Player looks *really* interesting! My goodness... Might have to consider picking it up!
I wonder if the Nexus 6 would be available in Canada right off the bat? But given the initial somewhat iffy build quality of the Nexus 5, I am hesitant to pick it up right away during initial release...
If it is the 2nd gen Nex7, then I really don't see the point of upgrading, other than that you want to try Lollipop out. But is that really worth a brand new purchase?
If it is the first gen Nex7, then upgrading to Nex9 makes a lot more sense.
What happened to making a smaller phone AND a larger phone. I guess they're leaving the small phone market for the Moto G. Still holding out for a second announcement for a nexus 6 Mini!
no one is gonna buy this phone. haha. at $749 ppl would just buy flagship android phones from the dozens of Chinese phone makers.
Where do you get the $749 price? All the online references that I can find so far says it'll be $649, although that is almost certainly in USD for the low storage capacity option. I do expect Canadian versions to be more expensive.
Still, even $700 puts it right up against other flagship phablets, but it is easy to argue that the Nex6 is also a flagship phablet as well.

the only reason ppl buy nexus phones are mainly because of the subsidized off contract pricing and stock android experience. otherwise there is no point in using nexus. 6 inch is too big anyway
sad if Google-subsidized pricing are over
I never cared for N4 or N5 because LG phones never had good build quality
anyone comment on recent Moto quality?
N9 has the incredible 64-bit K1 but is gonna be gimped by 2GB ram
the Asus media player is very enticing...wireless AC and $99 is an instant buy

If it really comes at Cdn $749, then it really, really sucks, esp when the US gets it for USD $649.
I'd disagree that 6" is too big -- there is obviously a segment of the market that favours phablets, and the Nex6 will appeal to them. But price sensitivity is going to hurt their overall sales. Perhaps Google may not care, esp since their goal seems to be moving the Nexus line up market.
Looks like I'll be keeping my ancient Nexus phone for another while longer...
assuming androidTV has access to the full Google Play store then dualshock 3 and other bluetooth controllers I presume will work
$99 on google play means they cant price gouge too much...imma guess $110-120
edit: no ethernet, okay I can live with that since it has wifi AC...but they should've included USB + optical...cmon even my Patriot Box Office from 5 years ago had these basics.

Probably cant use google wallet money to order the Nexus Player right? Like before, you couldn't use money in your google wallet to buy hardware (chromecast, nexus phones).
