I wish I could buy your days off of you.
Whistler was bangin today.

3L Goretex for wind + fresh wax for low elevation slush + 0 line on Red = lapping Franz's all day.

Fresh lines could be had when I rode out at 3.

westopher 03-14-2015 08:52 PM

If you only ride one day this season, I bet tomorrow is the day to do it. Wish I wasn't working.

Cypress Mountain Downhill Passholders - Save 80% Off 2015/16 Spring Pass Rates!

WoT warning.
Spoiler!

Tl;Dr version:
2015-16 Silver passes are $65.80
2015-16 Gold passes are $119.80

meme405 03-23-2015 03:29 PM

Good on Cypress, they've always been a class act in matters such as these.

Can't imagine anyone who bought a pass this year would forfeit this opportunity unless they were like moving away or something.

What about people who paid for ski card or prepaid vouchers?

I believe they said they'd be honoring those for the 2015/16 season. Website has full details.

WTF April

I couldn't help myself.

I went for a lap on Cypress. Calf/knee deep pow on top of Strachan gradually tapering to about 4" at the parking lot.

westopher 04-14-2015 02:47 PM

Did you hike it? Nice man. Earn those turns.

blkgsr 04-14-2015 07:14 PM

Hike? If I had to bootpack all that way I would kill myself.
I've got a splitboard for things like this :smug:

Rolled in to work at 9:30 and nobody was the wiser

westopher 04-18-2015 06:26 PM

Went to whistler today. Sunny as fuck, my face is sunburnt, and the jumps in choker park suck. Black park was closed for a contest. Saw Max Parrot and McMorris throwing down which was so amazing. Overall decent day. Its worth going if you feel like riding park on whistler and you don't have to pay full price for a lift ticket, but most of the mountain is VERY bare, and blackcomb is closing tomorrow.

Went to Blackcomb yesterday.
No waiting for any lift.
Nuked my face in the sun.
Spent all day on Spanky's and the glacier.
Fresh lines (WTF!) on Horstman's bootpack and Ladies First).
Had beer and waffles for lunch.

Life is hard.

Went to Whistler last weekend and enjoyed a perfect bluebird day with spring conditions. As shitty as it is that it was all I got to do this year, I'm glad I got SOMETHING in. I feel like I at least got it out of my system enough that I'm ready for summer now. Bring on the hiking.

ancient_510 06-05-2015 07:04 PM

Closing weekend at Whis, is anybody else here still skiing?

heisenberg 07-29-2015 06:58 PM

anyone getting / has had a cypress gold medal card ??

I got an email from cypress and its on sale for $49.

Is it pretty much 1 free day of riding and a discount on lift tickets at the window?

Pegacorn 08-29-2015 09:08 AM

I had one my first year. It was worth it. I started going often enough that a pass made more sense, but the gold medal card is definitely a good deal.

unit 09-03-2015 01:09 PM

anyone switch from boarding to skiing?
im an average boarder wanting to make the switch, just a little deterred by all the costs of new gear :\

underscore 09-03-2015 01:15 PM

I've done both, grew up on skis and switched to boarding for a few years before switching back. I'd suggest looking for someone that's around the same size that might just want to straight trade you their ski gear for your board gear.

rexsomnii 09-03-2015 01:23 PM

how did you guys get into split boarding?

LYC 09-04-2015 05:45 PM

Buy splitboard. Buy avi gear. Get your ast1. Go splitboarding.

gilly 10-07-2015 12:30 PM

Planning on going to Sun Peaks in late December and Revelstoke in early February next year. Hopefully theres gonna be snow!!!!!!
