It's easiest just to rent from the mountain you're going to, only marginally cheaper to rent elsewhere. Went with a friend starting out and she rented pants and jacket and everything from Ski & Snowboard rentals | Vancouver
The upside to renting off mountain (especially if renting clothes) is that you know you've got your gear before you get up there, in case they have a low supply in your size.

The snow is actually nice, but there is almost none of it. One run is open. It was fun, but kind of a waste of money.

Suggestions on bindings? I would like to have upgraded my boots, board, and bindings this year since mine are probably like 5-6 seasons old and pretty beat up. But thats a lot to spend at this moment so I think I'll only upgrade the bindings because mine are currently the ones that strap on top of the foot part, so it pinches, as opposed to toe-cap ones.

Looking for something that I can continue to use as I slowly upgrade my equipment.

I like my union forces bindings, very comfortable and responsive. Evo in Seattle has them on sale still, I had mine shipped last year

Evo is a good shop. I got my wife a board and bindings from them and got a great deal.

Thanks for the suggestions on the unions, do you guys know if theres extra charge to ship to Canada?

Also thoughts on these: Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings 2014 | evo outlet

They have a steeper discount than the Unions, and reviews seem good. Only like $9 more.

edit: im an all mountain/freeride type of rider

edit2: damn, $55.78 extra to ship to Canada. hmm

edit3: at the top of the shopping cart it says:

"Rome products can only be shipped within the U.S.
Union products can only be shipped within the U.S."

So I'm guessing im out of luck?

Ive had good success with North Face Montana. They have a zipper vent on the top too. Would recommend wearing a thin glove underneath if you're in -20c.
Fully water proof. i use them boarding and wear them while washing my car. don't judge. lol

I picked up a set of ski's from them 2 years ago and a couple sets of poles last year. Good thing about Evo is that they put any duties/extra charge within their shipping costs at the final checkout. it's still pricey to ship it up here but if the item is heavily discounted, it works out with their shipping price.

Not to sure about bindings but when I shipped my ski's, Shipping was about $120. Steep but you just gotta weigh the discount to their shipping. *Great Service from them, never a hassle, no hidden costs.

*And that's the fkn dream right there.

I always ship things from evo to TSB in Point Roberts. They have free shipping with an order of $50 or more to TSB. As long as you don't spend more than like $300 you won't get taxed coming back through the boarders

I've been riding various incarnations of the 390s for the last 7 years now. Best bindings I've ever owned, and i'll never switch from them probably until something super amazing appears. I ride 2013 390 boss's now and love them. The cant base pads are nice since I ride a wider stance. Ship them to TSB, or locally check out pacific boarder. The dollar is such shit right now that buying stuff across the border isn't worth it unless you cant get it here.

I ended up buying the Rome ones I posted and going the TSB route. Looking forward to trying some new equipment out, been on the same K2 Anagram/K2 Sonic from 5 seasons ago when I first started.

Best case no tax, $185 CAD. With tax $200 CAD.

Couldnt find the 2014 ones online here, but the 2015s at Pacific Boarder are 10% right now for $269.99.

Hmm, whats next..boots or a board..

I as well can vouch for the 390s. Used mines for 6 years now and they are SOLID bindings. Never had an issue yet. On the heavy side, but this is comparing to my brother's union flights. +1 on checking locally, lots of left over 390 stock from last year. Just call around.

You should've shipped to inout parcel. Cheaper than TSB and they've got 24 hour lockers. Too late for you TOS'd, but heads up to others ordering gear from the states

I like that its 24/7. I'll give it a try next time I guess, makes it easier for someone to go that works a full time job and doesnt want to be apart of the weekend rush.

Selling off some stuff since I only went 3 times last year and probably won't have much time again this year.

Brand new Never Summer Proto CT 154cm - $350
Rome 390 Boss S/M - $150 used less then 10 times.
2011 Burton Cartel EST M - $100
Bern Baker helmet - $50
Burton Board 156cm - $50 it's really old and cracked. Good for shitty condition, rocks and to learn on.

Went up to Cypress today. All rain. I think it would have been busier if it was nice out.

Got soaked to the bone.

Good thing is that i got myself a new pair of goggles.

Oakley Airbrakes in army green frame with vr50 pink iridium lens which included a dark grey replacement lens.

Can't wait to use them at revelstoke next week.

On the topic of gloves, I need a pair as well. Any other recommendations?
Saw the north face Montana one posted above.
