DIY a some-what longer lasting anti-fog application for my goggles? I've tried the dish washing soap before and it hasn't done well for me.

make sure your goggles are not overlapping/covering your toque, scarf, face mask etc.
in other words, the foamy cushion part on the goggles should have direct contact with your face

Oakley Airbrakes

Look out. I've had to RMA two sets of lenses on my Airbrakes because of fog between the lenses. Hang them up to dry after every day of riding. I drive home with them draped on my rear view mirror every time. My 7 year old shitty Spy goggles are more reliable than these ones. When touring, I can't afford to be stuck on top of a mountain and not be able to pick a safe line down. I pack 2 pairs of goggles now.

Speaking of touring, went up to Manning on Saturday just to have a look around. They're not open yet. One lap inside the resort boundaries, one lap down through Apple Bowl; it was terrible. Snow had the look of wind scour but it had a rain crust on top.

This. Air flow is the best defogger around.

Anything other than good air flow? I ride with glasses, no contacts so that's not an option, and they usually for up.

Get contacts. Then it will be an option.

I wear glasses as well and don't have any problems, I know for snorkeling I spit on the inside of my goggles then wipe it off and it seems to work.

Xu.Vi 12-08-2014 05:20 PM

Try wider goggles maybe? My IO/X's fit over my glasses perfectly without exposing any gaps.

Soooooooooo............
Anyone getting really worried yet? Local mountains are in some serious trouble after these mild rains. Whistler may be picking up some tonight and tomorrow, but it was horrendous up there last weekend.

anjewree 12-10-2014 11:23 PM

Hopefully whistler doesn't let me down lol heading up there for the weekend

Vangruver 12-11-2014 11:49 AM

not worried the slightest.

I still feel that the season will still go as per norm, as this reminds me of the season of 98/99. The worst I've remembered. Before snowmaking, and before thousands of people knew what snowboarding was.

is blackcomb open yet?

westopher 12-11-2014 12:11 PM

i rode it when I was there. Both mountains have been open since opening day. Only red and green chair on whistler and jersey, cat skinner, solar coaster and wizard on blackcomb. Park was fun, but nothing other than a few main runs had enough snow to be ridable.

dyan 12-11-2014 12:13 PM

hopefully this weekend dumps :D

who am I kidding

westopher 12-11-2014 12:51 PM

My buddy sent me a pic from up on whistler today. It looked really good actually. Snow in the forecast tonight and tomorrow as well.

i just got a new pair of oakley flight deck goggles. inside came with a cleaning guide and it seemed a little over the top. something along the lines of " if snow gets on the inside of your goggles shake out all snow and water and use the bag it comes with to clean it" has anyone else encountered this with other goggles?

underscore 12-11-2014 10:20 PM

How is that over the top? If you clean lenses with the wrong material you'll scratch and scuff it.

just thought there might be some kind of coating or lining on the inside that you dont want to rub off my accident

TOS'd 12-12-2014 01:49 PM

most goggles come in bag which is the same stuff as those cleaning clothes, so thats why it was saying you can use your bag to wipe the insides of your goggles and it will be alright.

It's so sad up at Cypress right now
