Thank you for the recommendations. Going to look into it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
i did cabo and sjd couple of times, stayed at hilton on sjd side, was good. nothing special, on cabo i stayed at Solmar, and it was the best exp. its all in, however its a la carte, so no buffets , plus its close to lands end, where the rocks are, you can go over the rocks and end up at swimmable beach. remember cabo u can't swim in ocean and only few beaches are swimmable. (non at SJD side). SJD has more old folks, Cabo is where all the clubs are etc. so basically u end up here . https://r-cf.bstatic.com/images/hote.../173055115.jpg Puerto V, dont remember much, haven't been to mexico in a while ::( |
Anyone here stay at Barcelo in PV? |

I stayed at a Barcelo in Cabo and it was my worst AI experience in terms of service. Of course YMMV but I literally had to find out which brand of vodka to order that they didn’t fill up with cheap tequila. Seriously. Trying to pass off tequila as vodka? My mind is still boggled as to how they thought people wouldn’t notice.. can you even get that drunk? :lol It was a “smart” hotel too and nothing in the room worked as it should have, electric blinds etc. They didn’t have anyone who could fix the issues over the week that we stayed and they refused to provide us another room. If we didn’t mean some pretty cool people there it would’ve been the worst experience ever. |

Question: Are these All Inclusive in Mexico good for kids around 7 - 10 ? |
Yah some are super good they can eat what they want and they basically have day care all day activity planners for your kidlets and kid specific pools etc |

I left my resort north of PV once and got on a local bus with chickens and shit, went to Sayulita because a dude who I know goes there almost every year and loves it... so I figure why not... It's lovely, yes there is 1 street in the town I would consider "touristy" but it's a great surfing town... and the beach is black sand!! It looks so cool... I really enjoyed spending the day there. If you surf or want to just beach out with locals then I think it's a great option. Everything was really cheap too, some lady was just BBQ'ing chickens on the side of the road in this big metal trap thing and I bought a chicken and rice lunch from her for like $4 or something. |

We got a smoking deal there a few years back as they were transitioning from a Secrets to a Hyatt. Awesome hotel though, I really recommend it if you have the pesos. |

Go to Yelapa. |
Sayulita sucks man, the water regularly has E.coli issues, happens to people there all the time, my buddy got the worst shits last time he was there about a year ago, it's regularly reported (do a search). Sayulita is a village that grew too quickly in relation to the tourism coming in, they don't have the proper infrastructure for the sewage, hence those issues. Yelapa is much nicer for that off the beaten path experience, the jungle and beach there are amazing. Even the resorts south of PV around Boca De Tomatlan have better beaches and vibe than Sayulita. I'd also recommend the resorts around Punta Mita (which is north of PV, but south of Sayulita), very nice beaches, good surf, fancy and quiet. Guayabitos, which is north of Sayulita is also way better. You can also go very south of PV to Manzanillo, my family frequent there often. Just skip Sayulita, or visit for a day, but don't stay there, trust me. It's a shitty tourist trap lacking any authenticity. It is the PV equivalent of Tulum, but worse (at least there isn't shit in the water in Tulum). |
That’s good to know, I really enjoyed my day there but I was literally there for 4-5 hours and then went back and found a bus home again. Didn’t try to stay overnight or drink the shitwater lol |
What sites do you all like to use for booking vacation packages? |
Redtag.ca used to be the one we used when we used to do all-inclusives. |
I’ve had good success with travelbestbets just make freaking sure you aren’t flying sunwing. Watched a dude die on the last sunwing flight I was on. The staff had no idea wtf they were doing, how to work the defibrillator etc. buncha youngins looking like deer in the headlights. Took 4 years to convince my wife to get back on a plane. We’re taking the kids to Vegas for NYE  Will report back on the Sphere. |
Heading to PV in September, staying at Occidental (Hyatt Ziva was super expensive). Should I get tranfser or taxi? I have heard the Taxi's are safe from the Airport... anyone have experience? Travelling with the wife and 2 kids. Been to Cancun many times in the past and usually take transfers. |
Have tons of experience. If you wanna be cheap like me, exit the airport and turn left, walk for a few minutes and you'll see an overpass that crosses over the highway. Cross over the book an Uber, or grab a taxi from there, you'll save some money. Ubers can't arrive at the airport, but they can pick you up across the street, they can also drop you off at the airport when you're leaving. Always use Uber or Rappi in Mexico, taxis are hit and miss with their prices and almost always more expensive. PV is extremely safe, you have nothing to worry about down there. |
To add, don't stay the whole time in Nuevo, the beaches there aren't good. Make sure you take a day to head south of PV, some of the nicest beaches are there: -Playa Punta Negra -Playa Palmares -Playa La Garza North of Nuevo one of my favorites is Playa Careyeros, there's a wicked restaurant there called El Barracuda Punta de Mita. You can spend the whole day there with the family, the water is shallow and calm, white sand, so really safe for the kids to run around while you and the wife sip cocktails under an umbrella. |
