Kingsway

I don't know if this was announced anywhere but if you're riding along Kingsway east of Metrotown please be careful or reroute because of the construction. I was driving behind a bike tonight when he all of a sudden slammed on his brakes, nearly hitting a car in the other lane as he swerved to avoid the potholes sticking up from the pavement. Good thing I was kinda expecting him to slow down or else I it could've ended in a 3500 pound car vs skinny guy on a cbr 125.

Good call... this is the section of Kingsway between Metrotown and Royal Oak.

Yeah I drove through this part of Kingsway yesterday and they're repaving the roads. Its very rough at the moment and due to rerouting the lanes, the traffic is a mess... especially during rush hour.

...I'm glad it is being done though, it was certainly necessary. Kingsway is so busy I don't think there is ever going to be an ideal time.

I went through their last week in my Range and I crawling through because of the raised manhole covers, etc., and just generally being cautious... I had people flying up behind me, flashing, honking, doing high-speed overtaking... just shook my head. They clearly don't care about the well being of their car and saving 30 seconds must have been very important.

They've messed up the kingsway and imperial intersection though. It looks like they're putting up a left turn lane on kingsway, west of imperial. turning 3 lanes into 2.

That whole area is a disaster.

I went through there on the weekend, not knowing about the construction, and some broad driving a black Jetta with an N sign started honking and swerved around me IN MY LANE as I was avoiding potholes, manhole covers, etc.

Best avoid this area if you can.

damn, all those bumps on kingsway with the paving going on, I might as well got rear ended several times with all the sudden braking I've done. Probably wont have to drive through Kingsway for the next few weeks and hopefully its paved by then
