Buying in Ice Jewelry - Feedback / Reviews/ Experience

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to buy an engagement ring :) My friend pointed me out to
Ice jewelry - Jewelry, Diamonds, Rings, Earrings and More - Ice Jewelry Online

They have awesome and unbelievable prices like below

3/4 CT Princess Diamond TW Solitaire Ring 14k White Yellow Gold GH I1;I2 IGL Certification - Diamond Rings - Rings

Regular: 9K Sale: 2k

This also includes IGL Certification

A true value for your diamond!
‏People from all over the world send their diamonds to the IGL Laboratory for grading and analysis. Our clients put their business in our hands and their trust in our expertise – and we are extremely careful with both.

Sometimes it seems too good to be true.

I'm sure someone heard and had experience with this company. Any feedback and suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Never heard of that site before but if they can't even be bothered to write their terminologies correctly, this raises a flag.

The clarity is usually referred to as SI1 or SI2, not I1/I2. Haven't heard of IGL certification before, but a quick search tells me that they grade their diamonds one or two grades higher; on an already shitty rock. And who the fuck sells diamonds with generalized specs? If you're comfortable buying on those terms, boy do I have a deal for you.

This should tell you everything you need to know

Ice.com Reviews - ice.com Ratings at ResellerRatings

I just googled ice.com and the pricescope forums and I found this:

ice.com good deal? : Show Me the Bling! (Rings,Earrings,Jewelry) ? Diamond Jewelry Forum - Compare Diamond Prices, Discussions & Diamond Information

Based on the link you gave, it did not give a standard description of diamond (like what @Spoon mentioned).

Go to the tutorial at bluenile.com so you can perform due diligence on the diamond and ring setting you want.

Check out https://www.diamonds.pro for reviews of online retailers as well.

The 3 sites I went shopping for my fiance's engagement ring are:

- bluenile.com
- jamesallen.com
- briangavindiamonds.com

I believe if you're a pricescope.com forum member, you get some discounts on a few of the more reputable online diamond and ring dealers (check out pricescope for more details).

In the end, I purchased at jamesallen.com. Very helpful folks at that site and I would definitely recommend. Good luck!

I1 - I3 has inclusions (defects) visible to the unaided eye. Generally really poor quality diamonds have that and the better shops don't.

Cheap diamonds usually are like that, either they have bad inclusions, or the colour is off. cut doesn't matter as much, though a higher quality cut could mean a slightly brighter diamond.

I bought my ring at brilliantearth.com.
